Hello! Im Wren Auclair. A pureblood witch. Daughter to Ptolemus Auclair and Florence Rousseau, sister to Leo Auclair (Me and Leo are twins, by the way. Not identical. Just twins.) I was born into wealth, built to prosper and prevail. Unlike many other pureblood families in my time who were quite hard on their children, my parents were not. Me and my brother made it clear from a young age that we didn't need anyone to push us into success, we would achieve it on our own. We were both quite skilled at magic. Having already achieved the amount of magical success that we had, there was no doubt we would both receive acceptance letters to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, so when the letters came, there was no surprise.

Nonetheless, me and Leo were still worried about going to Hogwarts. Not the education part, but the social part. Friendship was never our forte. We lived in a small town and there were not many kids our age to befriend. Even so, none of them were witches or wizards so it was hard connecting with them. Most of them had nothing in common with us. Luckily, me and Leo were in the same year so we could worry about everything together. We promised each other that we would always stick together and have eachothers backs. Swore it.

The first day of school had come faster then we had imagined. Before we knew it, me and Leo were saying our goodbyes to our parents and hopping on the Hogwarts Express. The train was quite squishy with a tight hallway in the middle and a small compartment on either side. Obviously, Leo and I sat ourselves next to each other. Leo helped me push my bags up on the top rack of the storage compartment, (he is a lot better at weight lifting than I am) and we hung our owl cages side by side on the hooks inside of our compartment. Mother and father got us both owls as a start of the year present but I think the real reason they got them is so we could write to them and send off letters (we named my owl Poppy and Leos Ollie). It was quite easy getting comfortable in our compartment. It was very cozy with cushioned seating and pillows everywhere. Squishy, yes, but comfortable? Also yes.

I had just gotten out my wand and spell book to practice some of the spells mother and father taught me when a boy with ebony colored hair and dark sable eyes carefully opened our compartment door. Describing him was quite difficult. A first year like us, no doubt. He looked troubled, almost confused, yet stern and confident. Quite attractive, really.

"Mind if I sit here?" he asked politely.

"Go ahead!" I said scooching over, closer to the window.

He smiled warmly. Maybe he could be my first friend! The boy took out his wand and cast a spell on the bads behind him making them fly up into the storage compartment as he sat himself down next to me.

"Im Wren Auclair," I said, introducing myself "and this is my brother Leo!" Leo waved. He was sitting in front of us on the other side of the table. The two boys smiled at each other.

"Nice to meet you! And you are?" Leo mumbled awkwardly. I was always better with speaking than he was.

"Tom Riddle."

My brother looked over at him, confused. "Riddle," he repeated, "I have never heard of that surname before and I have been studying pureblood last names for years... And you just did magic to get your bags to the top of the compartment so you must have magic parents..." Tom flushed crimson, beginning to look uncomfortable.

"Leo," I forced out through my gritted teeth, "you are being invasive!"

Leo looked down and began fidgeting with his fingers, realizing how insensitive he was being. "Sorry." He did look sorry. He also didn't know any better.

"It's alright," Tom said, forcing a smile, "I don't know much about my parents. I never met either of them. I'm an orphan, actually."

"I-im so sorry," I said, putting my hand on his shoulder, "I had no idea." Leo nodded along, agreeing with me, but not being able to get the words out of his mouth.

"It's OK! Of course you didn't know, we hadn't met until just a few minutes ago. I think it would be weirder if you did!" He chuckled at his own joke. Leo and I laughed along.

During the rest of the train ride to Hogwarts, we taught each other a few of the simple spells we learned to prepare for school, occasionally throwing another detail or two about ourselves. We continued like this until we heard an announcement that we had arrived at school. As we boarded ourselves off of the train with our bags, I could see Leo smiling over at Tom apologetically, and Tom smiling back.
