Prologue - You will Fall in Love with Me!

It was a normal day at Taisho High School. The birds were singing, flowers were blooming. Students were walking by, talking to each other while finding spots to have their lunch at.

However, things were a bit different at one part of the school. Students were walking by but one by one, they noticed the large cluster of students grouped in front of the 2-B classroom. In the cluster, some had their ears pushed against the door, some were pushing against the others to get a better hearing of what's happening behind the doors, and some who were members of the student council were desperately trying to get the group to move, with not much success. The other students outside the cluster started to approach the cluster one by one as well, out of curiosity.

"Are they at it again?"

"Oh my God, have they actually done the deed in school? How indecent!"

"It's just them behind the doors right? I wouldn't be surprised if they did."

The chatters of students was drowned by the soundproof door before being able to reach the two people in the classroom. Yes, the two most sought after boy and girl of the school, that the school knew none of them could ever be a match for but that only those two themselves could for each other.

"As expected from the handsome devil of Taisho!"

"That's unfortunate, I wanted Miyazaki-san for myself."

"What, you think you can actually match what the handsome devil of Taisho could provide for her? Just look at that face! That diligence! That aura!"

However, they couldn't be more far off the mark. Or could they?

Inside the classroom, a completely different scenario than what the students outside the classroom doors were imagining was unfolding.

"It seems that some of your 'friends' are out there trying to listen to us, Nobura-san," the girl spoke, with a straight face.

"Seeing how interested they are, I suppose they must be yours, Miyazaki-san," the boy replied, giving her an equally straight face. "Stupid, isn't it? This idea of love just because of some titles such as 'Most handsome man on Taisho' or 'The Taisho beauty'".

"Indeed."

The girl stood up, and walked to the coffee machine to brew a cup of coffee.

While brewing her cup of coffee, she continued, "But it seems that your friends seem to think we are dating, Nobura-san. Is there something you've been telling them that has led them to think that?"

The boy scoffed. "You seem to be quite interested in that, Miyazaki-san. Are you saying you're interested in that sort of gossip? Or do you actually want something else to happen?"

"I don't know what you're talking about. You seem to be hung up on it, so I thought I'd ask you."

The boy sighed and stood up while still looking at a roster sheet he was meant to give to the class teacher. "You should know me better than that, Miyazaki-san."

"Oh, am I supposed to? The fact that you seem to think that makes me think that you do think that I should be close enough to you to actually think that I should know that about you."

"Interesting that you should say that, since you also seem to know who I am on the day we met."

The girl winced but just as quickly as she changed her expression, she had changed it back to her stoic expression.

"Well, we just have our own share of problems then," she replied curtly.

Silence ensued in the room afterwards, with the girl slurping her cup of coffee and the boy reading from the roster sheet he was holding.

To the average student, this just looks like a normal couple going through a fight.

However, unbeknownst to every student in the academy, these two are secret agents and the children of the commanders of opposing political factions, trying to use love as a tool to gain an advantage over the other!

You can't fool me now, judging by your subtle reaction by my probing, you are indeed already in love with me, Kaito thought to himself, suppressing a smile. Soon I will return and make father proud of me.

Oh you're so easy to read, Nobura-san, Kazane thought to herself. I will soon be able to bring progress to my father soon, and you will be the traitor to the Takagis without even knowing it.

Your friends clearly seem to always tease you about me, so it seems that you must be telling them something about me, Kaito thought to himself. You can't hide it anymore. Maybe I should probe them a bit more. But no, wait, if I do that, her friends instead might think I actually like her. I have to think of another plan.

You must be thinking of using my friends against me, Nobura-san, Kazane thought to herself. Luckily I already told most of them that if you ask them about me, then it will just be proof that you like me one-sidedly, as I already told them that I was not interested in you.

That's right, you probably already told your friends to assume I like you as soon as I ask them, Kaito thought to herself. Miyazaki-san, I can read you like a book. In that case, I know just the perfect thing to make you confess out to me straight away.

Oh I know what you're thinking, Nobura-san. If you think your plan will work, you're gravely mistaken. Luckily this morning I already told Sayaka to set up some countermeasures for what you have arranged today. Those gangsters from the Takagi faction won't be moving for a while and besides if they did, they'd be gravely mistaken to be going up against the number one agent in the Ueda faction.

Right, knowing her, she most likely has attendants to take care of things. Such is the fate of a stuck-up heiress of a long-forgotten political faction I suppose, Kaito grimaced. But I already thought that this will happen so I've already prepared another surprise for you later on.

I could play this game all year, Nobura-san, Kazane thought to herself.
