The Grand War

Chapter 6

Techno found himself blushing again at the girl's attention, "Yea, I am part piglen. Hence why I have pointed ears, tusks, and don't tell anyone this but my hoof "boots'' are actually my real feet." He said. "Oh wow, that's so cool! Would you be ok with answering some questions I have?" She asked. "Oh, um, sure I don't see why not." He responded. "Ok first up, do you have a like more piglen based form or if this your only form?" "I do have a more piglen based form, but I typically only use it in fights when I'm losing and my life depends on me winning." "Alright, if you are in the nether do you still have to wear gold around other piglens or do they recognize you as one of their own?" "Depends on their class. For example the brutes don't recognize me while the normal piglen do." "Hmm, oh, are you attracted to gold like they are?" "To some degree yes, which is why most of my jewelry is made of gold." "If you were in the nether with someone and they hit a pigman, do you get triggered like the other pigmen do or do you stay calm?" "To my knowledge I have never gotten agroed by someone hitting a pigman." The two of them spend most of the day in Techno's base talking back and forth as well as asking some more questions. Next thing they knew Mel's head was laying in Techno's lap and was messing with his soft hair. "Hey Mel, it's getting late. How about we head to your base and we can just spend the night there." Technoblade suggested. "Sure, that way I keep my end of the deal and we can keep hanging out." Mel said as she got up and stretched. Techno followed suit and got up as well, grabbing some items that had been sat aside during their long conversation. The two people make their way out of the base and begin the somewhat of a long journey to Mel's base.

~small time skip: at Mel's base~

"And here we are, casa de Mel!" Mel said proudly, showing off her base to Techno. "Wow, cool design." The male responded. Mel's base was a semi-large wooden house surrounded by a large obsidian wall of defense. At the corners of the wall there stood towers where someone from the inside would be able to shoot from without having to worry about returning fire. As the two approached the front of the base Techno noticed the wall of lava blocking their way. Mel stops in front of it and then turns to face Techno. "How much do you trust me?" She questioned him. He looked at her questioningly before responding, "A lot more than I probably should. Why?" Mel only smiled at him, "Good." Then before Technoblade knew what was happening Mel had shoved him in the wall of lava. Techno felt betrayed when he felt the lava hit his skin, however the burn of lava was quickly replaced with the relief of cold water. The male looked around him to see he was now inside the base and sitting in a pool of water on the other side of the lava wall. "Watch out on the other side!" Techno heard the girl yell before seeing part of her body coming through the lava. So he quickly got up and moved out of the way so that she could easily land in the water without worrying about landing on him. Soon Mel found herself sitting in the pool of water in order to cool off from the lava. "Thank god I didn't forget to put the water in here, otherwise this would have been a lot more painful." Mel said, still sitting in the water with her eyes closed. Technoblade looked down at Mel and then sighed, holding his hand out to help her up. "A warning would have been nice, I thought you had betrayed me." He semi-joked. Mel opened her eyes in order to respond but saw his hand outstretched to help her up, so she gladly took the help and got out of the water. "I wouldn't betray you Techno, you can always count on me." Mel ended up responding while leading him to her house. As Mel led him through the house showing him things Techno took the time to listen and make sure to remember what she told him. Who knows when the information might be useful. The one thing that stood out the most though was when she said she had a secret garden. Mel noticed how his ears twitched after hearing this and decided to take him there. "So are you a fan of gardens? It seemed to catch your attention when I brought it up." Mel asked. "Oh, sorta, I enjoy gardens because it is always calm and peaceful. Great place to go to get away and relax after a long day." The pig-like male responded. Once the two of them arrived the most noticeable thing in the garden was the giant yew tree in the center surrounded by different types of flowers, the most noticeable ones being sunflowers and peonies spread throughout. "You know, this place was naturally spawned. I just happened to find it and decided to build my base around it. George told me to be careful since this place is full of symbols, but when was the last time I actually cared about my safety?" Mel joked as she picked up one of the smaller flowers. Giving her a worried glance Techno responded, "This place is full of symbols?" He questioned. "Yea, this tree represents death, the sunflowers represent loyalty and admiration, the peonies represent love and honor, and the birds that like to hang around represent 'impending doom' or whatever George said dramatically." Mel said dismissively. However, Techno could only worry. "How about you move into my base if this place is so full of symbols of death?" Mel laughs, then responds. "I'm a warrior, a little death never stopped me before and it definitely won't now!" Techno sighed and got up. "Well it's probably time for me to head back to Pogtopia so WIlbur doesn't lose his head. This was fun though, maybe we could do it again some time?" He asked. "I suppose we could spend a day together again at some point, but only if you bring me flowers next time" Mel said jokingly with a wink. This small action caused the piglen hybrid to blush and turn away to walk back home, "I just might. Night Mel." "Good night Techno." Mel called after him as he walked away. Once Technoblade was out of her sight, Mel got up and headed into her base and downstairs into the potions room where she began to make lots of healing potions. She had a feeling that attack wouldn't be the last.
