Geoff had been thinking and he really shouldn't have been.
He'd been scrolling through the countless fan accounts he was continuously tagged and reminiscing on things he desperately needed to let go of.
But wide heterochromic eyes and large sweaters haunted his Instagram page. Light blue hair and lavender called him to a different time, when he was important, needed in a way no one had ever needed him before.
__________________________"G-geoff," The younger stuttered out through hiccups, snot causing him to sniffle every few seconds, "Jus' l-leave me a-alone."
"Awsten," Geoff groaned from outside the bunk, crouching on the floor, praying Awsten would let him in, "You can't keep pushing us away, it's self destructive and you know it."
"Maybe that's what I need right now!" Awsten cried, "If you left me alone I wouldn't drag you into it!"
"That's what you need?" Geoff frowned, waves of confusion washing over him, "Why would you think you need that?"
Awsten went quiet. Only the sounds of his sniffles were heard until he spoke in an almost ashamed matter.
"I-I know I did nothing wrong, like consciously b-but theres gotta be a reason she didn't want me," Geoff tried to contain his instant instinct to reassure Awsten that he in fact was not to blame, because he knew the younger had more to say, "So if I'm awful and everyone hates me, maybe I'll get it. I don't know, Geoff."
"Aws," Geoff didn't know what to say, he wasn't a therapist but he wished he was some sort of fairy godmother that could magically fix Awsten's mental health, "How can I help you, and really this time. Not just letting you push me away."
It was quiet again.
"I-I dunno."
"Do you want me to distract you?" Geoff offered, "Play the switch together? Watch a movie?"
"Movie?"
His voice was so small and twinged Geoff's heart in a way he decided to label as anger towards Ciara and nothing else.
"Yeah, Aws," Geoff confirmed, "Any one you want."
The curtain was pulled back and Geoff was met with the splotchy red patched face of his best friend.
Awsten slided out and made his way to the spare bunk they piled all their luggage they needed on hand in. Geoff stood up in anticipation, another twinge to his heart that he chose to call hope that his friend would be feeling better soon. The blue haired vocalist rummaged through a bag and pulled out something Geoff assumed was a DVD.
Awsten turned to him, his eyes firmly set on the floor. The younger raised the DVD up to show Geoff in what the elder assumed was a search for approval.
Lilo and Stitch.
While Geoff hadn't expected Awsten to be a Disney adult he was determined to brighten the others mood.
"Let's put it on," Geoff smiled.
_______________________________________It was obvious that Awsten wasn't doing well. It was clear from the music he was writing alone and Geoff didn't want invade the others privacy but he found himself worried.
