Awsten slipped into the elders room, seeking the comfort he always needed when his caffeine addiction left him awake until ungodly hours, leaving him alone with his thoughts.

"G-Geoffy?"

The lights were off, causing Awsten to squint to truly make sure the squirming lump on Geoff's queen sized bed was really Geoff at all.

"Aws?"

The brunette's voice was laced with shock that he faked far too well. But Awsten knew he was pretending, they'd danced this dance far too often for Geoff to be genuinely shocked.

"Need you," Awsten offered in some sort of explanation.

"C'mere," Geoff patted the bed, and Awsten scrambled into it.

He pressed himself against his friend, breathing in his boyish scent and lifted a hand to clutch onto the shirt he was wearing.

"What do you need me to be tonight?"

Awsten froze, this was always the most embarrassing part. Admitting what he needed, he wished telling Geoff he needed him was enough.

"Need you," Awsten repeated uselessly.

"I need more than that, Aws," Geoff rubbed his back in a motion that evoked both calm and attraction fueled nervousness from Awsten, "Need you to use your words...."

Awsten did not in fact feel like using his words. He wished information could just cross between them without admission, he wished all of this was easy.

"Unless you don't want to," Geoff murmured in an odd tone that Awsten hoped meant he understood what he needed, "You were a good boy today, Aws."

Awsten whined, feeling as if he'd just stepped into a scorching shower, the steam and heat surrounding him. Geoff did understand.

"F-for you," Awsten whimpered out as Geoff tightened his grip on the now shaking boy.

"You're such a good boy for me," Geoff confirmed, "D'you wanna tell how old you are, baby?"

Awsten peeked up, his eyes somehow adjusted enough to the dark to see Geoff staring back at him, "Little," he responded which he knew wasn't much help at all but he was in the business of being helped not the other way around.

"Ahh," Geoff replied as if he'd told him something actually important, "Well in that case, don't you think it's very late for little ones to be up?"

Awsten shook his head, lifting a sweater paw to his mouth to chew on, finally feeling himself let go of all those yucky big boy things.

"No?" Geoff raised a brow almost comically, "Last time I checked there was something about little ones having bedtimes."

"Nuh uh," Awsten quipped, "You's wrong."

"Am I, bunny?" The brunette bit his lip, "Well, it's Daddy's bedtime, did you know that?"

There it was, the daddy word. Awsten's heart lurched, the hold Geoff had on his was far too grounding so he bubbled up another response, "Tha's siwwy, Daddies stay up fo'ever."

"Do they now?"

Awsten nodded.

"And you'd know, being a daddy and all?"

Awsten shook his head with a giggle, "Nuh uh, tha's you!"

"Well, if we aren't meant to be sleeping," Geoff was smiling, showing Awsten this was all banter anyways, "What are we doing in this bed?"

"Cuddlin'" Awsten said promptly, then proceeding to yawn.

"Can we cuddle with our eyes closed and no talking?" Geoff asked.

Awsten but his lip, and nodded slowly, "Guess so."

"There's my good boy," Awsten whined again.

They quickly fell into silence, Awsten still had something on his mind. Causing him to toss and Geoff to grumble sleepily at him.

"D-Daddy?" Awsten whimpered.

There was a sigh, before Geoff spoke up, "What is it, bunny?"

"W-will you still be my Daddy tomorrow?" The multicoloured boy felt so fragile it hurt.

"I'll be whatever you need me to be, Aws," Geoff confirmed, pulling the boy close once again, pressing a kiss to his head, "I love you."

Awsten hummed back, not truly believing him but he allowed himself to fall asleep in Geoff's arms.
