It's been three months since Ling Lan has left the rainbow palace. The others only found out two days after her departure. Luckily, they didn't freak out...
That is until they found out how long she was going for.
...
"A YEAR!" Qi Long almost went ballistic from the news. How was he supposed to survive for a year without Ling Lan telling him what to do?
Lou Lang had similar thoughts as Qi Long but the calm personality took over before he could freak out. "Why exactly is he leaving for a year without telling us though? Is it really that secretive of a mission?" They were all waiting for the girls to explain.
"Well boss has some family matters that he wasn't allowed to talk about." Lou Chou was trying to explain the circumstance without telling them what Ling Lan was doing.
"Can't boss send someone else to do it? He is the family head of the Ling family." Han Jijyun also thought it was a little weird for boss to have to be gone for this long.
"Only direct disendance of the Ling family can go. Boss's family doesn't want to get involved with the separate members of the Ling family so he has to go." Li Lanfeng relayed what Ling Lan had told him in the office that day.
Lou Chou sent a grateful look towards Li Lanfeng. She really didn't know how to answer their questions.
"Seems like boss can only go, but why did it have to be a whole secret?" Zhou Jun was still unsure of this aspect of it all.
Han Jijyun was also thinking of this when he realized, "If he didn't go secretly then their was a high chance someone would try to plot against us while he's gone" once he started putting the pieces together it was really easy to figure out. "So in order to make others believe he was still here he didn't tell any of us so that we still act normally. "
Lin Zhong-qing nodded his head in agreement. He thought this was the best possibility. "Boss uses this plot every time he doesn't want anyone to notice him. It's not that unusual. And it's not like we haven't been without boss before."
"Okay fine but what exactly are we supposed to do?" Qi Long felt like nothing would work if his boss wasn't there.
"We do what we always do. Boss said if we ran into any problems he trust that we could make the decision and if not just come to me and Han Jijyun to ask. I'll be signing off any documents that needs it." These were the last thing that Li Lanfeng had to tell everyone before he turned around and left.
Everyone nodded in unplanned unison. With that everyone disbursed to do their own business.
Li Lanfeng got to his room before crashing onto his bed with a sigh. After a few minutes he took out a single bottle of newa agent and held onto it. "Ling Lan, come back as soon as possible. I need you..."
And for the next three months he worked nonstop to take his mind off Ling Lan. But it wasn't enough. Everyone thought their 'nice and gentle' elder brother Li Lanfeng was going to overwork himself. So they all took over a portion of his work and got it done proud at their little contribution. If only they knew the agony they put him through.
So with nothing to do for the Rainbow Palace he decided to review his information network. Lucky for him, he noticed a small gap in them. This was enough of an excuse for him to go out of the lawless lands and take his mind off Ling Lan.
So with a little notice he ventured off to the second rate planet, Planet Bliss.
After about a month of traveling with few stops on the way he arrived on planet Bliss with a new identity, Nalan Zhan. Li Lanfeng didn't change much about his appearance except the mask he had on was now gold instead of the usual silver and his aura had changed.
He booked a place at Heavenly Lake Inn for a month or two since its closest to where he needs to be. Did he know about the lake myth? Of course! If he didn't check everything about the place he was staying he wouldn't be Li Lanfeng. He felt that even if it was true he would need Ling Lan to actually make anything happen. No one else!
With this thought to comfort him, he entered the building to check in. Aside from the receptionist, there was another person in the lobby. A single figure sat in a chair at the wine bar. Legs crossed and wine glass in hand, leaning on the countertop. He could only see her side profile while her black hair flowed down her back and somewhat across her face, blocking even more of his view.
She was beautiful but he was still more focused on getting to his room than on the girl. As he walked pass his eyes kept stealing glances at her, completely opposing his will. Seeing that something kept nagging him to look at her, he gave in.
He gave his bags to one of the workers to carry to his room on the eighth floor and walked over to wine bar. He sat down two seats away and didn't look at her figure once while ordering a glass of wine.
Dispite sitting down he could tell that she was at least three inches shorter than him. She was currently wearing a black mid-thigh dress with long sleeves up to her wrist along with thigh high black velvet boots. It covered up almost every thing while still giving off a dangerous sense of seductive charm and allure.
They both stayed silent for a while before deciding to start a small conversation.
"What's your favorite?" He was talking about the wine choices.
She didn't even look at him before a small smile graced her lips.
"Number 32." She directed his attention to a specific wine bottle on the shelf. Although he was paying attention his thoughts were on the sound of her voice, it was velvety and calm.
"How come?"
"The aroma is sweet and the color and clarity is nice. Sweet wines were always a favorite of mine." Ling Lan glanced at his side profile before asking, "What about you? Have any favorites?"
Ling Lan noted the curious look in his eyes. Although it was harder to see through a mask she could still see them.
"I don't know. I just arrived today. Have any recommendations?" He looked at her eyes. They were clear and dark. Felt like your soul could get lost in them.
"Hmm. Have any preferences?" Her target wasn't an easy one. He had given her a few curious glances but everything else in his eyes were guarded. She might have to take a little longer to seduce someone like him. But she was up for the challenge. It was better than doing nothing all week.
"I prefer a dry, fruity wine. But I don't mind trying something sweet." He could truly go for any, but this would satiate him for now.
After a moment of thought she raised her hand to call for the bar tender. Her hand was fair and delicate. Similar to Lanfeng's.
The bartender came over and she ordered a number eleven.
"It's for the gentleman over there, place it on my tab." Ling Lan payed before he could say anything. "Think of it as a welcoming gift." She had already finished off hers so she got up and left.
Li Lanfeng was surprised but didn't turn down her gift.
He siped on the glass of wine and a dash of suprise flashed through his eyes when he realized that it was the exact flavor he talked about. A small smirk appeared on his lips and when he noticed it he instantly frowned.
What he didn't notice is that she took his mind off of Ling Lan.
A/N: HEYYY, just to let anyone know I don't know much about wine tasting. I only took a few points off of what I read online. So please excuse me if something is wrong.
