Snape shouted in shock as the figure of Harry Potter slumped to the ground. Blood spattered onto the green grass, as Snape rushed over to the boy and tore off a piece of his own cloak. He pushed the cloth onto Harry's seeping wound and meanwhile, held his wand in the air, signifying danger. Red sparks emitted from his long wand and rose a couple feet high before vanishing. Seconds passed and Snape increasingly grew worried. The boy was losing too much blood, any longer he wouldn't live. Thankfully, Madam Promfey arrived with several cries and screams. She flooed back to bed infirmary and left Snape standing there, still taking in what had just witnessed. Was this a dream? It can't be...
Harry woke up to the sounds of hushed whispers. " ...Severus, do you have any clue of why he did this?" one voice said. Madam Promfey. Another voice added in a deeper tone " I assume it would be a few things, but we can't be too sure until we ask him. Stupid boy he is. Gryffindors and their lack of self worth...". Professor Snape. Madam Promfey pleaded " Severus, please help him, you know what he is going through, so please be a little nicer to him, it'd go a long way". Snape sighed " Alright. Alright. I'll be more... lenient". Madam Promfey smiled " Thank you, Severus". Snape inclined his head politely " No problem, need anything else just ask me". Madam Promfey nodded and Snape left the room. Harry managed a few hoarse words out of his dry, throat " W-what Madam Promfey? What's going on-OH". Madam Promfey gasped and ran over to his bedside " Oh thank goodness your awake! Here have some water". She handed him a small cup of water, with some calming draught in it. After a minute, Harry asked " I'm so sorry Ma'am". Madam Promfey stopped what she was doing and stared at her patient. Sorry? Oh good lord, Gryffindors. She answered " Don't be sorry Potter, it's not your fault. Now would you be able to answer a few questions for me?". Harry nodded and watched as Madam Promfey pulled out a quill and some parchment and began to write down notes. She asked " What caused you to attempt suicide?". Harry was taken aback by this and said in a nervous tone " All the bullying and the stress. And now my Godfathers gone. It's like nobody is here anymore". Madam Promfey nodded sympathetically and shot him a smile that was sad as she wrote down something. Next she asked " Please tell me your friends names, all your close friends or even just friends". Harry listed them slowly " Ronald Weasley". Harry could see his big blue eyes and red hair in his mind. " Hermione Granger". Harry imagined a giant pile of books and Hermione diving inside them, her long brown hair flowing graciously behind her head. " Neville Longbottom". A strange kid, but he was definitely brave. Neville had lost his parents at a young age and they never remembered him again. Pretty sad. " Luna Love good". She was a funny one. A very smart Ravenclaw and very kind. Shame she was bullied alot too. " Ginny Weasley". Ron's sister and his girlfriend. Harry always thought that she was a fierce girl with her long red hair and bright blue eyes that pierced like fire through your soul. After a few minutes of note taking, Madam Promfey left him with a bar of chocolate and some sleeping potions. Boy would this be a long week.
After a week, Harry's body was recovered enough to go to his classes. The students stopped bullying him when he was around, and his friends were looking at him anxiously. Harry finally settled down into Charms and smiled softly as Ron and Hermione sat next to him. Hermione put her hand on his arm and whispered " It's okay, just relax". Professor Flitwick entered the room in his usual eager manner and announced to his class " Today, you are going to have a free period, catch up on your work or talk to your friends". Everyone either got up and chatted with friends or started finishing their homework . Ron and Hermione were busy working so Harry just sat at his desk, staring at the wall. A hand tapped his shoulder lightly and Harry turned around to see Draco. Harry glared but Draco sat next to him and adjusted his gaze into Harry's eyes. He said " I'm sorry Harry. I cannot believe I almost made you - I'm so sorry, please forgive me Harry! Slytherin, or not, that was uncalled for. So I'm sorry". Harry gaped in shock. Malfoy? Sorry?. Maybe he was dreaming...
Harry was woken from his trance by Draco hugging him. Harry felt tears fall as he hugged back and forgived him. Draco smiled and waved to Harry as he returned to his friends. Hermione and Ron soon came over in surprise and asked him loads of questions. For the 50th time, Harry replied " Yes, he is sorry guys. And I believe him". Hermione grinned " I'm so glad Harry. Maybe he'll even treat us better too". As if on cue, Draco returned and said " Granger, Weasley, Harry-". Ron gasped " How come you call him Ha-". Draco was cut off by Hermione shutting Ron up. Harry smiled and nodded to Draco who continued " I'm sorry for being so cruel to you guys. Me and these goons promise to be...nicer...to you. From now on, we'll address eachother by first names. Sound good, Ronald, Hermione and Harry?". Harry nodded in approval and the others did too. For the last time that day, Harry pulled the other three into a group hug and murmured " Thanks guys. Your the best". And with the day nearly over, the kids headed down to dinner with Draco by their side. Anyone that tried to hurt Harry, or his friends, would be on the receiving end of a very painful punch.
From then on, the war between the two boys lifted. And heartache was replaced with happiness.
