Chapter Six - The New Couple

" W-what?" Harry said, perturbed. Ron had just told him that Cho Chang wanted to talk to him. Harry felt his face redden as Ron shrugged " She said come meet her at the Ravenclaw entrance". Harry nodded quickly " Alright thanks Ron". Ron smiled and waved as Harry walked up to the Ravenclaw entrance, where Cho Chang was waiting with a small smile on her face. Her long black hair tied up with that pretty green bow of hers and her chocolate brown eyes shining in the dim light through the window. She asked " Hello Harry, do you mind if we talk?". Harry nodded " Sure, Cho. What's up?". Cho said slowly " I just wanted to let you know". She looked at Harry kindly and smiled sadly. " That firstly, Cedric's death wasn't your fault. Secondly, I think your really brave Harry. The way you stood up to Lord Voldemort, I think you are definitely Gryffindor...heh... but I just wanted to ask one thing". Harry raised his eyebrows and replied " Yes?". Cho Chang spoke in a nervous tone " Will you be my boyfriend?". Harry gaped in absolute shock. Him? Boyfriend!. Harry blurted " Well-uh- the truth is Cho...I will be your boyfriend". Cho looked delighted and beamed " Okay Harry". She hugged him and adjusted her hair. Harry asked " I think we should plan a date? Whaddya think?". Cho nodded. She added " Where though?". Harry smiled " We can have our own date near the river, it's beautiful there, and we can conjure our own food and drinks... anything really". Cho blushed " That sounds great Harry, well seya later". Harry waved politely and ran back up to the Gryffindor common room. He screamed quite loud that half of the dorm came rushing out.

" Harry? "

" Harry, what's wrong? "

" Harry! "

" Harry, are you alright? "

Harry started jumping around in shock and excitement until Ron and Hermione had grabbed his cloak and hauled him go the couch. Hermione demanded " What on earth, Harry?". Harry squealed " SHE DID IT!!". Ron asked, confused " Who? What?". Harry repeated " Cho Chang asked me out!". And with that, the entire dorm erupted into applause and whistling.

Later on, Harry and his friends headed down the Great Hall for dinner. As Harry sat down, he noticed Cho smiling at him with one hand resting under her chin. Harry blushed wildly and looked away, when he looked back, Cho's friends were giggling. Ron nudged Harry in the ribs " She likes you dude". Hermione scowled at Ron and continued eating her dinner. Ron however shrugged and followed suit. Harry flushed heavily and hastily finished his dinner. After he was satisfied, he returned to his common room. It was mostly empty, expect for a group of second-years huddled in the corner talking and Parvati and Lavender on the rug finishing their homework. Harry positioned himself on a couch, pulled out some parchment and quill and began writing to Professor Lupin, or Lupin.

Dear Lupin,

I'm writing to tell you about the latest news at Hogwarts. Some crazy things have happened. This morning Cho Chang asked me out and it was crazy! The entire dormitory sounded like the castle was on fire. A while ago, I was struggling with the death of Sirius, and Professor Snape found out about my.... past. It was awful!. Recently, I had some nightmare and I had to go see Professor Dumbledore. Also I've been having some suicidal issues. Alot has happened since last year but I guess I can't control that. Anyway, how are you?

P.S. I'm thinking of becoming an amanigus!

Harry,

Harry set his quill down, cleaned up and dashed out to post his letter to the Owlery. It took about an hour to return back, and when he did, the sky was nearly black. As he entered the common room, he found Ron and Hermione seated on the cosy couches doing what seemed to be homework. Hermione waved and smiled when she saw Harry enter and Ron just nodded. Harry sat on the hearth rug and pulled out a long parchment and quill for Snape's essay about calming draught and veritaserum potions. It took over an hour, and it was already past midnight. Harry fell asleep on the hearth rug and woke up early in the morning to find that someone had carried him back to bed. At breakfast in the morning, Hedwig, the snowy white owl came flying down the tables and landed on Harry's breakfast. Harry gently grabbed the letter and opened it. It was a response from Lupin :

Hello Harry,

That is some very crazy news!. I've heard Cho Chang is a Ravenclaw, I'm very happy for you. I'm very sorry to hear about your struggles with nightmares. But I promise you that they will pass soon. I understand at this point in time, it all seems like nothing will ever go right. I used to think that too. But now, I also realize that there's a happy ending to every story. If these nightmares persist, ask Professor Snape for some dreamless sleep potions, they'll help. You've been having suicidal thoughts? That's really bad Harry! I suggest talking to your friends or even another teacher. I also hope you're well Harry, thanks for asking!. I'm doing fine. I'm currently at the Black's house, with some other order members bustling around occasionally. It's kind of lonely, but I'm sure we'll meet again soon. Amanigus? That's a new one!. I wonder what you'll be? If you want to become one soon, I suggest you contact me again and I'll give you the potion you need to have for that. Anyways, good luck in your exams!. We will see each other again soon.

How was Lupin so calm? He was literally a werewolf!. Harry smiled, shaking his head slowly and immediately grabbed a parchment to respond to his letter. Harry grinned at the thought of what Lupin would be up to alone at that house. He dipped his quill into the jar of ink and began writing...
