Jongsuk and I get to the house where he thinks they took Chaeryoung, "they know we're coming. Stay in the car" he says parking a little ways away from the house.
"I'm not staying in here, my best friend is in that house" I tell him unclicking my seatbelt.
"So, if it comes down to it your willing to kill someone ? Because that's what you'll have to do Jiae" he tells me.
I debate for a second, this is my best friend. She'd do the same for me, I nod my head "yes" I answer.
He looks at me pausing then gives me a gun, "stay close to me" he says nodding. I nod and we get out the car, "wait Jiae" he walks over grabbing my hand.
I look to him confused, "if anything happens in there, just know it wasn't your fault. Okay ?" He nods. I narrow my eyes, "what-" he shakes his head telling me to stop then kisses me.
"Come on" he just starts walking. I lag behind with my heart racing as we near the house.
As we approach the white mini mansion, I grip the gun with my sweaty palms getting more anxious by the second.
I'm sure the place is guarded, maybe heavily, maybe not but regardless of that...I'll have to kill someone, I know that much.
Jongsuk snoops around finding a little window that leads to the basement, "we can get in through here" he whispers to me.
"But once we are in..." He says nodding. I nod my head, "I know. I'm ready" I speak.
He goes in first making sure it's clear then I come in. The basement is so dark, the only light is the one coming from the stairs.
We start walking up the stairs hearing talking from behind the door, I glance at Jongsuk as we stop walking.
The talking fades, indicating that they have continued to walk pass the door. We walk and he opens the door peaking his head out then motioning for me to come on.
"We have no idea where she is" I whisper to him. He agrees, "wait here" he whispers back.
He follows in the direction where the guard walked. I wait, occasionally looking around watching my surroundings.
Soon enough Jongsuk comes back, "upstairs" he tells me. I furrow my brows but down question the blood on his shirt.
We sneak upstairs and he leads me to a room at the end of the hall. He sighs and opens the door, as soon as he opens it we see the two guards inside.
They instantly turn to us, Jongsuk shoots both of them. They shots ring, I'm sure anyone else in the house heard it.
"Get her untied, hurry up" he points to Chaeryoung. I nod and rush to her taking the rag out of her mouth, she takes a couple deep breaths.
"We'll get you out of here" I comfort her. She shakes her head, "they knew you'd come" she informs us.
We nod already knowing that, "you don't understand. Jiae, they have your mom" she says making me freeze in fear.
"Wh..what ?" I respond, "Jongsuk, they have my mom...she's here. We have to help her to" I turn to him after I untie Chaeryoung.
"First we need to get out of here. We'll come back for her" he tells me, "they said, me or her. You rescue me or her" Chaeryoung informs us.
We each share looks, "they'll kill her the moment they realize we aren't in the house anymore Jongsuk. We can't leave my mom" I shake my head.
The room falls silent between us then Jongsuk nods his head, "go..you two go. I'll get your mom and meet you at the car" he tells us.
"But..Jong-" "hurry" he cuts me off. I share a look with Chaeryoung and grab her hand leaving the room.
Taking one last look at Jongsuk, I turn the corner leaving him. We make it downstairs and out the door without being caught.
"How did they find her ?" I ask Chaeryoung as we make it to the car, "my phone. They made me call her, I'm sorry... I- I'm sorry" she shakes her head.
"Are you okay ? Did they hurt you at all ?" I ask examining her body. She shakes her head, "Jiae.." she says.
I glance up at her confused, I see her looking towards the house. I turn around seeing three guards walking onto the lawn with someone in their arms fighting to get away.
As soon as they take the bag off their head my heart drops, "is that.." Chaeryoung mummers, "my mom" I let out.
"We know you escaped ! If your here, now you get to watch your love one die" one man shouts looking around.
I shake my head starting to charge but Chaeryoung grabs me, "if you do this, you die too!" She tells me. I shrug trying to get loose, "if I don't try we won't know!" I shout back at her.
"Jiae! We've never used a gun before. They will kill us all! Would your mom want that ?" She says making me stop.
My eyes water as I look back to the lawn, "Jiae, Chaeryoung! If your here, run! Leave!" My mom shouts looking around.
They raise the gun to her head, "please...no" I cry. I look around for Jongsuk, where is he.
I look down at the gun in my hand, I need to use it. As soon as I start to make my way to my mother they put a bullet through her brain making me stop.
I feel like everything just crashed down on me, I watched her die. Out of anger I rush over to the guys just shooting the gun until the clip is empty.
When I come to, I see I shot two of them. Dead. The other, I hit in the stomach, he raises his gun aiming it to me.
Then he gets shot, falling to the ground. I rush to my mother crying out, "no no no" I fall to my knees beside her.
"Ji" I hear Chaeryoung as she places her hand on my back. I look up at her through my teary eyes then she points to the house.
I turn around seeing Jongsuk stumbling out the house, his clothes are bloody and he looks out of it.
I widen my eyes but he shakes his head stopping me from daring to rush over to him.
He falls down resting his back against the wall of the house, he's dying.
