It's Fa-reezing outside! Right now it's snowing like crazy and I wanted to give Danny a good treat, but I barely had anything in the pantry, thus the simple oatmeal squares were born!
*I apologize for not posting in, what, like a year?! I have been pretty busy, and long story made short, I went from three horses to one. (I won't really explain) I still make treats for the horse (Danny), but I have not really felt like experimenting with new recipes like I used to..., but now I got a burst of inspiration by finding this cookbook being pinned several times on pinterest when I was searching for (you guessed it) horse treat recipies. I had no idea I had so many of you were still supporting me. Thank you so much for still reading my works. You made my day :)*1/4 cup quick oats
1/4 cup flour
1 4oz. container of applesauce (I used the Cinnamon flavor for a little bit of a sweeter treat)
1/4 tsp. canola oil
1 small carrot, grated.
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and preheat oven to 350 degrees F. (177 degrees C.). Mix the oats and flour in small bowl before adding the grated carrot. Then, add the applesauce and oil. Mix. Spread the batter on the lined cookie sheet to about a 1/4 inch thickness. Bake for about 12-15 mins or until firm to the touch. Cut into squares with pizza cutter while still hot. Enjoy!
