I awoke fiercely, I bolted straight up and watched the sweat pour down my face. My legs where throbbing in agony, the sort of pain that wouldn’t go away, I tried rubbing them but it wouldn’t work, I needed some paracetamol… I climbed out of my bed and began to walk but I fell violently to the floor, wait so I couldn’t even walk now?! F*cking great!
I heaved myself up and managed to get to the bathroom cabinet where I threw back the two pills, hopefully the pain would go in a few minutes…
I crawled back to my bed and rested my head on my now cold pillow, my window was wide open…
“I swear I shut that, before I went to bed?!” I questioned myself, I was 100% sure I had closed it, it was the middle of winter why would I want my window open?
I threw myself back out of bed and shut the window, as I was doing so I couldn’t help but notice a weird shadow, I looked closer, but all I could see where to brightly coloured eyes staring back at me, I couldn’t work this out? Was I imagining all of this or was I seriously going crazy…
I decided to ignore it, so once again I launched myself back on my bed…the pain was slowly fading, thank god, I thought I was losing all life in my legs! Must be some sort of weird growing pains, I had them minorly as a child so they must have been coming back.. to be honest I was pretty short, I was only 5ft 2inches, so I guess that was payback for all the years I didn’t grow..
It was 5am meaning there was no way I was getting up now, so I went back to sleep.
The heavy rays of light hit my eyes, I tried to open them but it was so much for my them, I decided to roll over and stick my head under the pillow..
“Common Eve, wake up, I’ve made you breakfast, your favourite, pancakes and strawberries” my mum said as I felt her rest the tray next to my face..
It smelt delicious so I decided to lightly pull myself up so I could at least eat it without choking..
“mmmm, thanks mom, smells good” I murmured so quietly it was almost a whisper, I wasn't really a morning person “oh and can you shut my curtains please, I’m being blinded”
“sure thing sweet heart, but get up soon, were going shopping later” she said sounding excited, we’d probably be where ever we were going for the rest of the day…
It was 10.30am so by my estimations we probably were going to leave around 12, so that gave me 1 ½ hours to get ready…
I ate my breakfast quite promptly then had a quick shower… I wanted to do something interesting with my hair today, making a new impression and all…
My hair was usually dead straight, so I decided to mess it all up and have loose curls… I wouldn’t say I was making an effort for anybody else, I was doing it for me.
An hour and a half passed and I was ready to go, by my calculations my mom would call for me in 3..2…1…
“ were leaving in 5 minutes guys, make sure you have your shoes on and ready to go” my mom called, oh she was very eager…
We left the house and got into our new car, which was pretty nice… it was a 4x4 which had tinted windows and small TV screens in the back of the seats. I thought that was rather pointless, things like that always made me feel car sick!
The journey took about 5-10minutes before we arrived at the massive store, that by the looks of it sold everything, the town was pretty small, so I’m guessing they just built one massive supermarket that had everything in it!
My mom was on a roll, she wanted to get her hands on everything, ranging from candles to meat!
After finding somewhere to park we eventually got into the store, before my mom found a big enough trolley. She was hilarious, but that’s why I loved her…
We got quite a few looks as we walked in but I was kinda expecting it, I mean we where the newbie’s after all!
“How do you do, you must be the new folk” said quite an old guy, with grey hair and beard, he looked friendly and I guessed he worked in the store or something…
“We are all good thank you, and yes indeed, we’re the new guys” my mom said giggling away, made her first friend already…
I decided I wanted to go off and explore the store by myself, I didn’t really like being glued to my mother’s trolley the whole time, she’d probably get stopped about 100’s before even picking up her first item…
I took my own basket and started to browse, I had a list with me and I needed the following;
· Shampoo + conditioner
· Face wash
· Moisturiser
· A new hairbrush (seeing as mine decided to run away)
The list went on, with the same day to day things so I made my way to the beauty isle…
I finally found it, but before I could start my shopping I felt someone by the side of me..
“Hi, I’m Kasey, you’re going to be starting my school next week, I hear?” he said holding out his hand, guess he wanted a hand shake then…I politely shook his hand and replied
“Yes you’re right, I’m Evie by the way”
“Oh I already know that and so does most this town, we don’t really get that many new kids, so good luck with all the questions on Monday” he laughed, he was sweet and pretty cute…
He had light brown hair that was perfectly styled, yet again he had decent style, he was wearing a burgundy hoddie which was down up with a bow around his neck, some faded skinny jeans, with black vans… wow this place had some style, I was impressed.
“Great” I muttered sounding really unamused “ Guess I should wear some protective amour”
“Probably should , you don’t want to come back with broken limbs” we both laughed at that, he was pretty funny and I was beginning to like him… as a friend that was…
“Well I could meet you at reception Monday morning and show you to your classes, if that’s any help?” he offered, I was quite happy to take up his offer, I mean at least I was going to know one person…
We spent a good 2 hours in the store, once I had finished gathering all my items, my mother was still talking to some other randomer who probably wanted to greet her…
I didn’t even know where my brother was, he was probably looking out for the closest girl who could....oh and I was so right….spotted him walking out of an isle with some girl obviously jotting down his number, oh he was so unbelievable!
After another 30minute wait we finally payed for our massive trail of items and set off home…
I was glad I had met another person, but as always it seemed like I was only getting the attention from guys… I wanted to make friends with girls too seeing as I left my best friend back in Montana, if she could ring me now, she probably wouldn’t stop talking for weeks!
I had 3 more days left at home then I’d be starting my new school. I was nervous, but yet just a little excited to see how people where going to react to me, was I going to be hated, or befriended? Well we’ll just have to wait and see….
