My name is Cody Cat. You may know me as the "Dunk Tank Cat" from various pop-up carnivals across Mengguo. And if you do and you have dunked me before, then you owe me an apology.

(Hospital sirens blaring across the streets)

I'm just kidding. You don't owe me. In fact, Cecilia and I preferred it that way. And we made a fortune out of it.

(Splashing as Cody gets dunked and dunked again)

But times have changed. Because a pandemic was on the horizon. One day, it hit Mengguo.

(Chaotic supermarket noises, sounds of pushing, shoving and fighting)

Everyone panicked and tried to buy as much as they could. Tissue papers, hand sanitizers, soap, masks. Anything that could protect them from the exposure.

(More chaotic scenes with the sounds of stretchers)

Hospitals have been filled to the brim with those infected with the virus. They were struggling to breathe. Some were dying on their hospital wards and waiting for the inevitable, but there was no cure, no vaccine, no nothing.

(Breaking news alert)

And then, it happened. The President of Mengguo had announced a two-month lockdown period. During that time, only essential workers and those with valid reasons (such as heading to the supermarket or pharmacies to re-stock their supplies) are allowed outside. The rest of us are to be indoors.

All of these happened in late March, three months after patient zero happened in Mengguo. A month had already passed, and it seems the pandemic had yet to slow down. However, it all changed with one post. A post I found on Twitter.
