Crowds. Cars. Buses. The usual morning rush. Ahana rushed down the footpath with quick, hurried steps; she had three college interviews and if she didn't hurry, she wouldn't make the first one in time.

Fixing her hair and clothes, she made the crossing in front of SD College just about ten minutes before the meeting. Luckily the light was red and she quickly crossed over when she saw someone waving at her from the spot where she had been previously standing. Pointing at herself as if to say "Me?", she beckoned the person over.

It was a pretty girl with long straight hair. She had some papers in her hand. "Hey, you dropped these."

"Oh thanks! God, I'm nervous!"

"Oh are you applying here too? So am I! What major?"

"Oh I'm going for English Lit., you?"

"Psychology. Hey Ram, iss sabke chakkar may toh maine khud ko introduce bhi nahi kiya! I'm Divya." (Oh God, with all this ruckus I didn't even introduce myself! I'm Divya.)

She had a pretty name too. "Ahana," she introduced herself.

"Nice to meet you Ahana! Achha we should go or we will be late!"

"Haan sure!"

Ahana's heart was thumping as she made her way to the office, though she didn't know if it was the interview or the pretty girl she had just seen that was causing it. Half an hour later she emerged from the office, heart considerably lighter and feeling that she had done rather well. Suddenly she heard a pleasant voice.

"Ahana!"

"Oh, hi! Divya! Are you done with your interview? Did it go well?"

"Oh no, I'm next! I'm so nervous!"

"Oh right, right. Well all the best!"

"Thank you! How was yours? Good, I hope? I would love it if I could have a familiar face around, if I make it that is!"

"Ah yes, that would be nice! And to answer your question, I think I did pretty well! Maybe you were a lucky charm because I had a typical late, rushed morning today!"

"Oh, that's nice to hear! Maybe if we make it we could room together!"

"Great idea! Oh look, they're calling you! Good luck!"

"Thanks! Accha listen, wait at the gate, I'll meet you after I'm done!" Divya said nervously, a light shade of red spreading on her cheeks.

"O-of course! Sure! I'll see you here! Alright!" Ahana replied.

Maybe it was a trick of the light, but Divya thought she saw Ahana's cheeks redden slightly too. Feeling good, she went in for her interview as Ahana went to wait for her, a happy glow on her face.

A/N:

Hi! Sorry but my titles suck! If anybody was waiting for the update, I'm really sorry for the delay. Writers' block is tough! Anyway, tell me what you think!

Much Love

Sam
