Morning already.
Pucca wasn't sure if she had any proper sleep that night. The only thing that was trapped in her mind was the fact that she had just killed a man, even though gods and goddesses made a vow to never harm humans. She had sent his soul straight to hell. Gods and goddesses were never meant to intervene with the businesses of humans, and yet she went against that rule. She had lived for a hundred years, and she had never taken a single human life up until that point. However, under just a few days living in the human world, she came to understand their nature.
Unlike gods and goddesses, whose lives are so perfect that it's boring, humans had to endure piles of struggles to get where they want to be. In the world of gods and goddesses, the word "sin" doesn't operate in any way. In the world of humans, the word "sin" is necessary for humans to survive. For humans, living without sin was a sin in itself. Perhaps evil never really existed in the human world. Perhaps everyone in the world were just slaves to their emotions and desires, staining their hands with sin from the moment they were born.
"Pucca? Good morning."
Jae-geun entered the door after knocking, looking a little worried for his adopted daughter. For a second, Pucca assumed that he somehow knew what she had done. However, after looking at the clock on the wall, it became clear to her why he was so concerned. After all, Pucca usually woke up very early in the morning, around eight. Today, however, was different. For some reason, Pucca woke up at eleven in the morning, only one hour close to lunch. For someone like her, this was such an unusual thing.
"Are you feeling well?" Jae-geun asked, concern flooding his gentle eyes.
"Huh? Of course I am!" Pucca decided to respond to him with her everyday energy, fabricating a cheerful smile on her face. "What reason do I have not to be?"
"That's good to hear, then," Jae-geun's concern turned into a contented smile, like he usually had on everyday. "It's just surprising. You never overslept before, Pucca."
"Well, then. I guess there's a first time for everything!"
"Well, I certainly hope that you had a good sleep. You should come down for brunch. Your favorite black bean noodles are waiting for you downstairs."
"Ooh, black bean noodles?! I'll be sure to come down as soon as possible!"
Even though she ate them almost everyday, she never got tired of the taste of those fresh noodles that awaited her almost every morning. Even with the dreadful feeling of the blood eternally stuck on her hands, Pucca got up for the day. The thought of those noodles alone were enough to help her get over the panic that had been trapped in her mind since yesterday. And when she thought about it, she figured there was no need to worry too much.
After all, with Dong King out of the picture, they could finally go ahead and live their happy lives. They no longer had to worry about Ring-Ring being abused by her monster of a father any longer. Now, all they had to think about was the happy moments that all of them were going to spend together. As Pucca got dressed in her casual clothes, she began to think about all the happy days. The fact that she had taken the life of a man didn't matter anymore. The end justified the means in this scenario. Now all she wanted was to live her life with her friends.
Once she took a complete bath and dressed herself in her red dress, Pucca designed her hair in two buns. Once she was prepared to come downstairs, that was exactly what she did. She decided to stop looking into the darker side of things, and into the bright light instead. She mustn't be sad because she took a man's life. Rather, she should be happy because she did it for the sake of her friend. Just like Abyo said, if she hadn't done it, Ring-Ring would've been caught in his cage forever.
