Notifications popped up from your portable computer also known as a laptop, you heard your long-last friend Kona asking you if you could visit his place for his new Robby invention.
It was winter and sure it was freezing outside. Snow dripping slowly to the ground, nestling around the grass. Not gonna lie, the snow was colder than it seems. Your legs were almost experiencing frostbite.
Movements on your body had been getting rigid. The coldness of the fresh air slowered down your muscles.
In your thoughts, you wished Kona could visit you from Doveport to your home in Lucella. But he won't probably come to your house. So this scenario is the opposite. If he can't visit, you will by various ways.
You headed to the metro, which was flooded by many crowds. Entering the wide gate of the metro, you bought a ticket, planned destination and waited on one of the seats until the train halted for more crowds.
Chugging a bottle of water in case you felt thirsty, you looked up to the ceiling as water soothes your dry throat.
"Excuse me..." After finishing your drink, you turned left to see a female mole with a monocle. Eyes locked on yours as she spoke again, diverting your view at the plastic trash can.
"Your clothes seem kind of not suitable for winter, do you need another layer?" Sitting down next to you, she offered her scarf by your hands. Examining the thickness of the fabric, it really suited for body temperature maintenance.
Accepting the scarf, you wrapped it around your neck. Not to bore you in sleep, the mole asked where you were going.
Speaking of your goal, she perked up her monocle, mouth gasp in awe,
"You want to go to Doveport to meet Kona as well?" You nodded, surprising the black mole, "I know how to visit him, I'll tag you along for directions!"
'Fascinating, I have yet met someone who knew him!'
"Anyways, my name is Mimi. Sorry for not introducing myself. Yours?"
------------------------------------------------------------
The next train halted, decreasing their speed quickly. The two of you saw people exiting the train until it leaves few people in the train.
Mimi clenched her teeth at the platform in front of her, a strange feeling activating her nerves. You noticed her not making her move.
"What's wrong?"
"Not used into trains that much, but this is my first time." The engineer sheepishly stepped forward into the interior, "It's winter, going by steps would trouble me instead of riding this."
The train door shut both of you inside. Its wheels travel quickly by the right. Mimi almost tripped to the floor, thumping on the ground.
Concerned, you reassured if she was fine from the accident. She dusted off the bumps on her body, sighing with her monocle still looking fine.
"I'm alright." Her smile flashed towards you. Back to your seats, you enjoyed the snowy view with Mimi currently sitting next to you as well.
The sound of rails lulled you into a little nap including the low temperature of the room. The scarf sometimes blew towards her direction, giving little comfort along with her purple clothes.
"We had to pass three stations for this, I'll wake you up if we arrive at our destination."
Many times of halting for different destinations, you were disappointed that the rapid clicks from the rails paused. Many people were shuffling their positions in the interior: one clinging over a pole, one latched their hands on a random hanger.
As the train was about to stop at Mimi's location target, she tapped your cheek with her long nails. A little bit of pain seethed from your nerves of your face, like getting flicked by a small piece of rock.
The engineer watched your eyes flutter open, rubbing off your cheek that was pressed by her nails. Hopefully, it won't open up your skin.
"Splendid, you're easilly awake." She chuckled, watching her destination getting closer and closer until it stopped.
------------------------------------------------------------
You two stopped by at the nearest coffee store located almost close by the port. Feeling the water seethe into tiny particles that formed a steam.
"What a surprise. The sea wasn't frozen." Your eyes darted at the waving water.
"Looks like it's warmer than before. We could take the ship to the North." She pointed to the port where large ships reside and where usual consumers used ships for trading business.
"All we need is to book our trip." You continued.
"For a day?"
"I guess a day is good."
"Okay. Now all we need is somewhere to stay."
"Over there!"
The monocle mole positioned her eyes to the place you were pointing at. A little hotel located across the port. Judging by the height of the building, it could be.
In terms of checking in, you were on charge on payments for hotel as Mimi was in charge of the booking for the boat trip.
------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe staying at this hotel won't sound so bad to stay for the winter. It was your first time meeting someone who also know that klipspringer engineer.
Judging by her looks, she might be working on the side of science. That's the only thing you know about her.
Then the doorbell rung, alarming you to open the door for your new friend.
"I'm back. So, we'll go to Doveport tomorrow morning."
"I see. Anyway thanks for helping me out." She smiled at your appreciation.
Mimi hunched on the other side of the bed, fishing out a book and flipped its pages. You were looking at the port, some people started departing, and some were waiting.
"Hey, why don't you come here and read with me? I promise it would be interesting for you." She motioned her hand to let you join her schedule. Lots of books were stacked on the drawer and some of her science equipments were placed down on the drawer.
The paragraphs were explained in such more detail, illustrations as well. You've never discovered this informative book for your future. As soon as it reached on the end of the chapter, the mole napped on her bed.
"Mimi?"
"You should start napping as well. Don't wan't to fall asleep when walking." She shut her eyes, her body facing at the ceiling.
As you prepare to rest on your bed, you caught a purple scarf folded in a neat position. It was organized almost close to your bed side. Taking it, you guessed that the scarf was for you in case you can't stand the cold. You wrapped it around your neck and faced at the ceiling, which eventually lulled you into immediate emptiness.
And so the night rises, you two were slowly becoming friends.
