"Sometimes the edges of our broken heart fit into the craters of someone else's like a puzzle, hence completing each other."
Caylus had run out of things to say since he wasn't close to the girls at all.
Azura realized that all this time they had been together as a result of certain situations. This went not only for Caylus but also for Bladex and Zenon. They were together because they had to.
Azura had met these people and had experienced feelings that she would have never experienced in her fifteen years of solitude in the Xeed Specials' Unit. Her quiet and dark world was beginning to change and just in a mere month with her "friends", she found herself hiding in her own home, running from her own family. The fear was beckoned with a mysterious thrill. A new and fresh feeling. Despite all of this, the realization dawned on her that she didn't know a single thing about the people around her. She didn't know what they thought, what they feared, where they came from, what hell they were brought up in. She didn't know a single thing.
Caylus didn't know how he had ended up with the top three Specials but if they were to survive this end game, they had to grow closer and tie stronger bonds of trust amongst each other.
"I'm sure that I'm the reason behind this awkwardness. I would walk myself out of this conversation, but if I do, I would probably die." He said laughing weakly in hopes of lightening up the mood.Zenon sighed. Over the past few hours, so many things had occurred and she was still in the process of figuring out her memories. From the day she woke up in a chair in a lab of the Xeed Specials Unit, nothing seemed to be normal. It was funny in a way since she had no clue of what she was earlier either. Had her life always been this messed up? "Guys I know that there are so many things that are going on in our heads right now but Caylus is right. If he walks out of that door he dies and mayyybee we too. We need to formulate a plan to escape this place."
The group nodded. "...but is there even an exit from this place? It is pretty clear that Mr. X meant to confine the Specials in here forever," Bladex remarked as she gazed at everyone's eyes.
Azura's eyes immediately lit up. "As someone who had stayed here the longest, I know a thing or two about the structure of this place."
All attention immediately fell on her as she began to explain. "Okay, now listen up and listen carefully. The Special Unit is just a small part of the entire Xeed hospital. A vital thing to know is that this unit is the only unit situated miles underground which makes the very idea of escape close to impossible. However, the lift may be able to take us outside since that is what Uncle X and the other officials use to enter the area. This is how far my knowledge goes.""Well then," Caylus said while getting up, "I think the most logical thing to do right now would be to find that lift and explore the floors. I mean at the most there could be three, right?" He suggested.
"The pink dude is mayybee correct yet again. Let's explore." Bladex said, pulling herself up.
"Um, by a pink dude you mean C-A-Y-L-U-S, Caylus. That's what they usually call me." He said spelling out his name to an uninterested Bladex.
"Pink dude, Caylus or Pinklus (*trying to hold on laughter)...how does it matter? Our priority is to escape right now." Zenon said as she and Azura got up. "Well then guys, follow me!" Azura declared as she headed cautiously towards the door. The group found itself back in the dark hallways as the feeling of danger slowly crept up to their shoulders. Azura put a finger on her lips motioning to the others to stay quiet as she began to guide them towards the location of the elevator. The group moved hastily but their footsteps were light. Each of them knew that even a second could not be wasted as they had no clue what Mr. X planned to do next.
After going through a few twists and turns, the group finally reached the elevator. Azura sighed a heave of relief as all this time she had been contemplating whether or not she was taking the group in the right direction or into the jaws of death. "C'mon, let's go," Bladex whispered as the group huddled into the elevator.
