EXT SCENE: Loganswell Airstrip
The following morning Ross is smoking waiting by his van as a light aircraft lands.
ROSS: (Looking at his watch) 8 o'clock, bang on time as usual.
(Nikki Alexander alights from the plane, collects a suitcase and large pathology bag, she thanks the pilot who immediately takes off again a few moments later.)
NIKKI: Good morning, constable.
ROSS: Good morning ma'am.
(Nikki & Ross load her cases into the back seat of the police van.)
ROSS: You certainly come prepared?
NIKKI: We always come prepared for every eventuality. Doctor Nikki Alexander. (She offers her hand for Ross to shake.)
ROSS: Constable Ross Murdoch. (They shake hands)
NIKKI: Any information you can give me on these bodies you found?
ROSS: I didn't find them. They were discovered by a young couple of backpackers from Auckland, New Zealand yesterday afternoon.
NIKKI: How did they discover them?
ROSS: One of them is a GP and the other is a pathologist.
NIKKI: A pathologist? That's handy.
ROSS: Aye, Perhaps too handy.
(They laugh as they drive off)
EXT.SCENE 2: The roadway to Ben Maree
Stevie & Cassie are there smoking as the police van comes into view and stops.
ROSS: That's the couple who discovered the Caravan.
NIKKI: That saves us having to go look for them.
(Nikki gets out of the police van.)
NIKKI: Hi, I am Doctor Nikki Alexander, Home Office Pathologist. (She offers her hand to Stevie to shake) I believe it was you who discovered the bodies?
STEVIE: Yes it was – I'm Doctor Stephen Mallory and this is my partner Doctor Cassandra Delalio – we're from Auckland, New Zealand.
NIKKI: (To Stevie) I hear you are a pathologist?
STEVIE: No I'm a GP.
CASSIE: I'm the pathologist. (She offers her hand for Nikki to shake).
NIKKI: Brilliant (they shake hands) Nikki Alexander, Home Office.
CASSIE: Call me Cassie. We were wondering if we might be able to assist you?
NIKKI: Perhaps you can – Let's find out what we have here first. The van is this way?
STEVIE: Yes it's this way (Stevie leads the way).
NIKKI: Hold on there Doc. (Nikki holds him back) I shall lead if you don't mind?
STEVIE: Oh sorry Doctor. (He allows Nikki & Cassie to file past him) I wouldn't want to get into your way.
(Nikki rounds the corner to stare at the caravan and stops.)
CASSIE: That's exactly as we found it yesterday.
NIKKI: We have to take in all the info at the scene. Have you disturbed anything?
STEVIE: Just a bit of grass at the tow bar and front window.
NIKKI: I can see that.
(Nikki tries to see through the caravan windows.)
