The Mother who lived

Chapter 2: cookies

Lily was serving lunch for her and Sirius who was visiting her. Remus was busy at work, so was James. Sirius usually visited her everyday or as much as he could.

He was munching on a cookie happily while Lily ate. 'I never get chocolate at home, Mooney takes it all!' Sirius whined.

Lily laughed as she sat down on the couch. Her stomach was huge by now and she looked like she could burst.

She suddenly burst up 'pregnancy bladder, be right back pads' Lily said and ran to the bathroom. Sirius sad down and got comfortable with his huge pile of cookies.

Suddenly Lily ran down the stairs 'g-get James' she stuttered. Sirius looked at her 'w-why?' He asked nervously. He had thought it was because he ate the last cookie.

'PADS YOU IDIOT! Why else? I'm in labour you idiot!' Lily said before tiring her hair back. This made her more calm as she packed things.

Meanwhile Sirius was practically shaking. He took out his wand and conjured a patronous a beautiful silver wolf. 'Prongs! Come quick Lily's in labour' Sirius said frantically.

He was breathing heavily and throwing stuff in bags. 'I've got your toothbrush, Prongs toothbrush, THE BABYS TOOTHBRUSH! I don't have the baby's!' He said frantically.

Lily was at the door with her bag smirking slightly 'he won't have teeth Prongs come on!' She said. 'Of course Padfoot you idiot, wait I didn't pack the baby's food!'.

After a few more minutes of frantic packing and Sirius being stupid Lily practically dragged Sirius out of the house.

'I'm not ready to be a Dad!' Sirius yelled.

Lily laughed 'I'm afraid it's not yours Pads'. Sirius glared at her.

'Come on Red! This is everyone's baby!' Sirius shouted. Lily couldn't help but smile. Sirius tried to help her check in but he wasn't much use.

He was still panicking and was now nearly white as a ghost. Lily breathed out deeply as she was brought to her room.

Sirius was there holding her hand but he looked more nervous than her but suddenly his face was filled with sorrow and disappointment 'I should've saved a cookie for the baby!'

A few minutes later

Lily grunted as she pushed hard. Sirius was screaming in pain because of how tightly Lily was holding his hand.

Suddenly the hospital door sprung open to reveal an anxious but excited looking James and Remus.

Sirius almost fainted with joy. 'I think you have it here Prongs' he said gratefully and walked out to the waiting room with Remus.

They sat anxiously waiting for a small cry. Suddenly James bounded up to them. 'It's a boy!' He beamed and Sirius and Remus hugged him. 'Come on you two! Time to meet your nephew' James smiled.

Sirius stepped in carefully expecting a horror scene. Instead he saw a beautiful slightly sweaty Lily holdings bundle in her arms. Her face was lit up from joy and love and James heart melted.

Lily saw Sirius and Remus were there and beckoned them. 'His name is Harry, Harry James Potter' Lily smiled and showed them the baby.

The baby had dark wisps of hair and when he opened his eyes they were emerald green. James beamed with pride as he kissed Lily's head.

Remus beamed too he was first to hold the baby boy. He rocked him slowly and whispered to him. 'I'll keep you safe little Harry, no one should ever treat you like an outcast or you call your uncle Mooney ok?' He whispered sweetly.

Sirius's heart was in a puddle when he peered over Remus's shoulder. He never knew something or rather someone could be so cute!He stroked Harry's cheek kissing his head.
