Will's POV
The last thing Nico needed to do when under stress was shadow travel. He might have had a good reason this time, the Underworld was slowly being overtaken by Tartarus, so who knows what could have happened.
Apparently shadow traveling to a random building was what could happen. When Nico and I had more awareness about where we were, we had very different reactions.
I, for instance, found a sign that said, 'WELCOME TO WESTOVER HALL!'. Which wouldn't give me much information, until I saw a bulletin bored that said it was a military school in Maine.
But Nico, on the other hand, had one good look around the place and broke down. His knees buckled from beneath him, and I had to rush to catch him. He was heavy breathing, and tears were pricked in the corners of his eyes.
"Will." He said. "We need to go."
"What do you mean? Nico what's wrong? Talk to me."
"P-please, we need to go."
"Why?! We might find someone who could help us."
"Will PLEASE!" He half yelled. He slapped his hand to his mouth and looked around. "W-will, trust me. We need to go. Something's going to go bad."
"And that." Said a voice from behind us. "Is correct."
I looked behind, and there was a man with short, military styled hair in a black suit. He stood with immaculate posture, which was very intimidating. He also had a French accent, so it was even scarier.
"Good to see you again, di Angelo." He said, though you could tell he detested Nico.
Speaking of which, he grabbed my hand and whispered "Bow. Monster. Now."
I took that as my cue. I swiftly put my bag behind my torso and carefully pulled out a bow and quiver. I nodded at Nico and waited
"What do you think you are doing? We don't allow visitors here, especially demigods."
"Now." Nico said.
I docked an arrow and shot it at the man, who swatted it away. I had no clue what type of monster he was, but he was powerful. Even I could see that.
"Ha! Idiots. That bow won't work on me."
"Yeah but this one will." Something whizzed from the shadows and hit the man straight in the chest. He exploded into sand left left a pile on the floor.
"What the hell?!" I said as I aimed a bow in that direction.
"Lower your weapon pretty boy. I mean no harm"
Out of the shadows came a boy, who seemed to be our age. He had white-blonde hair and lean arms, like he knew how to handle a weapon. His bow was a sleek silver with matching silver arrows.
He walked over to the pile of dust, picked up his arrow, and put it back in his quiver.
"Sorry about Dr. Thorn. He can be an ass."
He turned to me and Nico, who was huddled in a ball on the floor. I squatted down next to him. "Hey, it's okay, it's gone Sunshine."
He looked up and me innocently. "Sorry."
He got up and stared at the pile of sand, the boy, and to the boy's bow.
"Where'd you get that?" He asked the stranger.
