Percy's POV

Is it bad to say I'm scared of Nico di Angelo?

Because I am very scared of Nico di Angelo.

Most of camp watched in stunned silence as Nico confronted Tartarus. He was injured, but he was still scary and intimidating. He was on the ground on his knees and Tartarus walked towards him.

I could barely hear the exchanging of words, but I did make out Nico saying

"I'm your worst nightmare."

The air became drastically cooler. Faint black smoke swirled around Nico as he looked Tartarus in the eyes. His hair almost stood up, and it was like the Underworld came above ground.

Suddenly Nico lunged at Tartarus. He used his Stygian-iron sword and impaled Tartarus/Celene in the chest. Golden ichor seeped from the toga Celene was wearing.

Nico retracted his sword and went to slash again, and again.

And again.

For some reason, Tartarus wasn't fighting back. I grabbed Annabeth's hand. She was breathing heavily as she watched from inside the Poseidon cabin.

"Oh my gods." She breathed. "Why isn't Celene fighting back?"

"She can't, remember? Maybe that's why Tartarus isn't fighting. He chose the wrong body to take over. Maybe if Celene can't fight, Tartarus can't either."

We watched silently as more black smoke engulfed the two. It got so heavy that neither of us could see what was going on.

It was a few agonizing minutes before the smoke started to clear. When it did, both Nico and Celene/Tartarus were on the ground.

Annabeth and I immediately sprinted out to them. When we got there, Nico was heavy breathing on the ground as Celene sat there, pale and presumably dead.

I crouched down next to Nico. "What happened?" I asked.

"Wi-Will." Was all he said before he passed out cold.

I quickly checked his pulse. It was slow, but at least he wasn't dead.

My girlfriend checked Celene's pulse. "Dead." She said.

Upon further inspection, I could see that Celen didn't have any of the sword wounds that Nico gave her.

"Tartarus killed her." Annabeth assumed. "There's no other way."

"But what happened to Tartarus?" I asked.

Annabeth faltered. "I don't know. I think Nico would have to tell us."

My attention snapped back to the Italian on the ground. I picked him up bridal style. "We need to get him to the infirmary."

Annabeth nodded.

We went as fast as we could. When we got there, the Apollo kids were running around and tending to way more patients than they had room for. The good news, no one seemed to be dead.

I looked around for Will. He saw me with Nico and ran over.

"What happened?!" He asked frantically, grabbing his boyfriend from my arms.

"He fought Tartarus. Got a head injury and who knows what else."

"He fought Tartarus?!" Will yelled.

We nodded. Will pushed through a sea of people and sat Nico down on a makeshift cot. Blood immediately started seeping from his head onto the cot.

Will did some healing, (which I would describe if I was actually good at healing and the author wasn't so lazy. *death stares Gremlin*)

In the end, Nico's head was wrapped and he had an IV tube inserted in his arm, he had a few bruised ribs as well.

"He'll be fine. He might be in the infirmary for a month, but he's fine." Will concluded.

"When will he wake up?" I asked. The infirmary was much more quiet, since there were no more battles happening outside. Most of the campers were cleaning up the battlefield.

"I don't know. Hopefully soon. I'm just glad he hasn't melted into a puddle of darkness yet. From the looks of it, he used his Underworld powers to the max. What even happened out there?" Will asked.

We told them the story and he seemed to understand.

"So there's no way to tell unless he wakes up?" He asked.

"Exactly."

Will reached over and grabbed Nico's hand. I saw a single tear go down his face.

"Hey," Annabeth said softly. "He'll be okay. You said so yourself."

"Even I make mistakes." He said, barely audible.

"Hey. Nico will be fine. He always is." I said.

Will nodded and kissed Nico's hand. He wiped his tears and stood up from the chair he was sitting in.

"I have to get back to healing. You guys should go help clean up." He said. In other words, ' Get out so I don't have to worry about you guys and my boyfriend' which I was okay with. Annabeth and I walked out back outside to help.

Will's POV

Leave it to Nico to almost die again.

And fight Tartarus by himself.

And pass out.

Again.

Now don't get me wrong, I love Nico, more than anyone else at camp, but I'm starting to think he just wants to live in the infirmary.

Everyone was waiting for him to wake up, since he was the only one who knew what happened to Tartarus. We presumed he was gone, but Camp Half-Blood can only be so sure.

I tended to other patients in the infirmary as I waited for Nico to wake up. We all cautiously went on with our day after this newfound war.

Or should I say days. . .

Or weeks.

It took two weeks for Nico to wake up. There were no more attacks in that period of time, but it was agonizing walking into the infirmary each morning and having your unconscious boyfriend just laying there.

But when he finally woke up, I was the first one there by his side.Well technically second.

I was at archery when my brother Austin came sprinting over.

"Nico's awake." He heaved.

I sat down my bow and ran as fast as I could to the infirmary. When I got there, Nico was chilling in his hospital bed, (which thankfully we had more space so he didn't get a cot anymore.)

"Hey," he said with a drowsy smile.

I smiled as well. "Welcome back, Neeks."

He rolled his eyes at my comment, but eventually said "Good to be back. Do you guys need any help cleaning up?"

"Cleaning up from what?" I asked.

"The entire war we just had outside?" He said.

Austin snorted before beginning to walk away. "I'll let you deal with that." He said.

I sat down next to Nico. This might take a while.
