*L/n and Nishinoya are second years at Kurasuno High School starting at this point*
Nishinoya was suspended from school for a week and is banned from volleyball club activities for a month. He got into some trouble with the Vice-Principal so this was his punishment.
It was even harder on Y/n because she was one of the volleyball team's managers which mean she would be able to hang out with her best friend every day, all day. Y/n didn't even know when her best friend would return to school.
"L/n do you wanna see my serve?"
"Sure Kageyama but don't overwork yourself" Y/n responds to her first-year friend Tobio Kageyama as she goes to sit on the bench.
As Kageyama is about the perfect serve Shoyo Hinata comes out of nowhere and receives the ball messily and falls onto the ground.
"CAN YOU STAY OUT OF MY WAY FOR 5 MINUTES? I COULD'VE HAD THAT IF NOT FOR YOU!" Kageyama yells snapping out of his focused mode.
"OH YEAH WELL I GOT IT!" Hinata says jumping up from the ground.
"YOU DIDN'T GET ANYTHING, IT'S OUT OF BOUNDS!" Kageyama yells back which makes Y/n laugh and walks off to the bathroom, Kageyama picks up another ball serves again. This time it was received by another person.
Yuu Nishinoya.
For a moment it was utter silence.
"Are you shorter than me!?" Hinata asks standing beside Nishinoya in shock.
"HEY, YOU BETTER WATCH WHAT YOU SAY TO ME!" Nishinoya yells at Hinata.
"WOW I AM SO SORRY- And anyway I just wanted to know how tall you are-" Hinata says back shakingly.
"I'm 5'2, That good enough for ya?" Nishinoya says back defensively while pointing at himself.
"Somebody to look down on! I haven't had this feeling since Middle school" Hinata says rubbing his eyes dramatically like he was crying.
"ARE YOU FRICKN KIDDING ME! YOU'RE NOT LOOKING THAT FAR DOWN!" Nishinoya starts yelling again till someone speaks to him.
"LONG TIME NO SEE NISHINOYA!"
"Hey, how's it going Tanaka!" Nishinoya talks with all his other friends.
Y/n walks back into the gym she sees Nishinoya, As she walks over to him the other team manager Shimizu Kiyoko walks into the gym.
"OH MY GOD, IT'S KIYOKO! COME TO MY ARMS SWEET MAMA!" Nishinoya yells and jumps at Kiyoko just to be slapped by the goddess Kiyoko in mid-air.
"HELLO? I'M HERE TOO!" Y/n yells playfully as Nishinoya.
"L/N!" Nishinoya yells and runs over to her and gives her a big hug while resting his face on her neck.
Then Nishinoya walks off to continue talking with his friends while Y/n goes off to talk with Kiyoko.
"You guys would be really cute together," Kiyoko says smiling at Y/n.
"No! I can't cheat on you, Kiyoko!" Y/n says hugging Kiyoko's arm.
"Y/n we aren't dating." Kiyoko laughs softly while gently pushing Y/n off of her.
"Yet," Y/n says the does the fuck boy face and dice roll, making Kiyoko laugh some more.
*the next day*
"ROLLING THUNDERRRRRRRR" Nishinoya yells rolling over and making a receive.
Tanaka, Yamaguchi, and Y/n burst out laughing while Sugawara is confused, Tsukishima and Kageyama make smart remarks.
"YOU BETTER WATCH YOUR MOUTHS YOU LITTLE FIRST-YEAR BRATS OR YOU'RE GONNA REGRET IT! I'LL MAKE YOU DO LAPS NO PUSH-UPS! YOU KNOW WHAT? WHATEVER YOU HATE MOST-" Nishinoya yells at the first years.
"TEACH ME THE ROLLING THUNDER TOO," Hinata says to Nishinoya in awe.
"So the Golden Wheat training camp, Were wall going this year aren't we?" Takeda says to the team.
"Yeah all of us can surely benefit from the practice" Dachi responds. Daichi was the team captain.
"That's excellent, cause on the last day of said training camp...I'VE ARRANGED US A PRACTICE GAME!" Takeda yells which of course gets all the boys pumped.
As Takeda explains to the boys about the training camp details Y/n just sits on her phone watching TikToks.
