"And that's how the dream went." 

Y/n was talking to her dog (d/n) about her day and dream from when she took a nap, (in the chapter before).

"I mean I did say that poem to Tsukki, everyone liked it, Kiyoko did tell me to confess to Nishi but that didn't happen."

D/n tilted his head to the side, confused and interested by her words from before. 

"Okay, so this is what really happened earlier..."

"You're the besets friend I could ever have N/n! Thanks for being there!" Nishinoya turns to Y/n and smiles at her.

Y/n's heart was breaking into so many little pieces. She'd just been best friend-zoned by her long-time crush and best friend. Y/n could feel her tears start to form, trying to stop them didn't work. Tears fell out of Y/n's eyes, they just kept on coming. Y/n quickly hugged Nishinoya a hug so he couldn't see her crying.

"Hey, my parents are back for a couple of days, do you wanna come in and see them?" Nishinoya asks Y/n opening his front door.

"Oh no thanks, I'll greet them tomorrow," Y/n says with a small smile.

"Ok, talk to you later!" Nishinoya says entering his house and closing the door. Y/n was still outside, she let her tears out silently while entering her home. No one was home but d/n who was sleep in his opened cage. 

Y/n walked upstairs to her room and took a hot shower playing her playlist on her bathroom speaker that sat on the wide counter. 

After her shower, Y/n decided to take a nap. In Y/n's dream, she dreamt of what she deeply wanted to happen.

Around 11:00 Y/n woke up to d/n cuddling her. 

"D/n, hey can I talk to you?" Y/n whispers to her dog who wakes up immediately and shows he was paying attention to her by licking her hand.

"Pretty sucky right?" Y/n asks her dog while wiping her tear-soaked, red eyes.

Y/n hears her phone vibrate with her text tone going off. She received a message from Nishinoya.

twinnnn!

hey, y/n idk if ur sleep or not but good night<3

Y/n saw his message on her lock screen but decided not to respond. Not out of rudeness but just she didn't know how to deal with her own feelings. 

"I decided not to confess. I'm the one who decided to feel rejected. I'm the only one making the biggest deal ever. As long as we're friends, nothing else matters. As long as he's in my life, even if he finds a new love, I will always be here no matter what" Y/n tells her dog while laying back downing stares at her wall of pictures with her and Nishinoya on it.

"heh guess we're more like star and marco than marinatte and adrein, huh?" Y/n laughs slightly and closes her eyes making them feel a bit sore because of her tears from earlier.
