Coming down the stairs, Haiden smiled at the message from Cam. He'd been sending the senior little messages, still mostly hiding his soft side.

She stopped, seeing Spencer and Jordan tugging the large tupperware back and forth.

"Aye, aye, aye. You can have half, alright? Look, moms only makes these once a year. I can't be giving them away." Spencer told Jordan.

Laura sat her cup down, quickly turning around.

"Wait. Spencer, is today..?"

"It's not a big deal, really." He said, shaking his head.

"We have to celebrate." She persisted.

"No." He bluntly said causing Haiden to giggle.

"Celebrate what?" Liv asked as she and Billy entered the kitchen.

"Spencer's birthday." Billy replied.

"Wait, you knew about it too?"

"Of course I knew, I did his transfer papers. Happy birthday, B."

"Thank you, coach."

"Alright, well, happy birthday. Who should we invite?" Laura asked.

"Thank you but I'm okay." Spence declined..

"You have to celebrate your birthday, Spencer."

"Mom, the man doesn't want a party." Haiden stated.

"He needs one." Laura kindly demanded.

"I agree with Haiden. I really don't need a party, Mrs. Baker."

"It's not gonna be a party. It'll be more of a lunch type thing. We'll just invite a few people."

"Listen, man, birthdays are her thing so.." Billy told him.

"There's really no use resisting."

He looked at the siblings, finally giving in. Haiden shook her head at the boy who wasn't prepared for what was to come.

The school day was her usual. Class, lunch with Liv and Spence then class, again. She was thankful when the bell rang, signaling the end of the day.

After school, she made her way to Crenshaw, meeting Cameron at one of the local ice cream shops.

The two ordered sundaes, sitting at one of the tables. They stared at each other, waiting for the other person to speak.

"So, how was your day?" He asked, smiling.

"I hate small talk." She bluntly replied.

He nodded, looking for a different subject.

"You do know that I'm older than you, right?" She questioned.

"Age is only a number."

"And jail is only a place when you're dating a minor. I'll be eighteen soon so.."
