He’s My Everything
It’s a Friday night and most of your friends have decided to go to the movies. You’ve decided to stay home and relax for the night since you’re expecting a phone call from your boyfriend, Colton. He’s been on tour with the guys for a few weeks now and you’re starting to miss him. You turn up on the stereo and blast “Rock Star Lover’ because his voice cheers you up.
The autumn weather is getting colder so you bundle up in one if his sweatshirts. You take comfort in how in still smells like his cologne. You check the time on your phone and notice that it’s a little after nine. You start to get worried. Colton has always called you at nine. You dial his number and there is no answer so you leave a message asking him to call you when he gets a chance. You try and not let it get to you because you assume he might be busy with the guys, or at least you hope so.
As the minutes pass you can’t stop wondering if something is wrong. You try calling Joey and see if he can give you some answers. No answer. “Okay, so maybe they can’t talk,” You say out loud to yourself.
To get your mind off things you decide to watch a movie to help pass the time by. You know that you won’t be able to fall asleep until you hear Colton’s sweet voice. He’s always talked to you before you sleep. There wasn’t a night that he didn’t call you. About fifteen minutes into the movie your doorbell rings. You slowly make your way from the couch to the door and peer out the window to see who stopped by at this hour.
Your heart accelerates when you see him. Your lips curve up into a smile when you open the door to see Colton. He’s holding a bouquet of red roses and a small stuffed teddy bear. You shake your head in disbelief. The love of your life was standing in front of you. He smiles at you before pulling you into a warm embrace. “I’ve missed you Emily,” he whispers into you to.
“W-what are you doing here?”
“I’m here to take my beautiful girlfriend away to the weekend. Pack your bags baby because you’re going to California.”
“Seriously? Oh my gosh, I can’t believe that you here.” Tears well up in your eyes, but they’re happy tears. You can’t stop smiling as you pull him inside. “Colton, I have to ask you something serious.”
He runs his fingers through his hair looking a little nervous. “Okay, shoot,” he says hesitantly.
“Why didn’t you answer my phone call?”
Colton chuckles and pulls you into a hug. His lips brush against your forehead before he kisses you on the lips. “I wanted to surprise you.”
“Well you certainly surprised me. So when are we leaving for Cali?”
“Two days. I needed some time to rest and catch up with my girl.”
You nod, certainly happy with that. “So what did you want to do?”
“I want to make my Emily happy.”
“Mission accomplished,” you say as you take his hand and lead him to the couch. The two of you snuggle up under a cozy blanket and watch a romantic comedy together.
Colton’s arm is wrapped around your waist keeping you close to him during the movie. You lean your head on his shoulder loving every second of his presence which you’ve missed so much. You look up at his warm, brown eyes and smile. His eyes meet yours and heart skips a beat.
His lips meet yours and you melt at his touch. He pulls you onto his lap so you’re straddling him without breaking the kiss. Colton’s hands rest at your hips while you wrap your arms around his neck, pulling you into his chest. You pull away from him and lean your forehead against his. “I’ve missed you so much.”
“I’ve missed you too Emmy. I’m sorry I worried you by not calling you.”
“I know how you can make it up to me,” you say smiling.
“Oh really now?” He cocks his head to the side grinning. He kisses your cheek and begins a trail of kisses down to the nape of your neck. He knew that this move drives you crazy, but he does it anyway. Your skin tingles from his touch.
“Colton.”
“Mhmm, yes?”
“Were missing the movie,” you say out of breath.
“We can rewind it later baby,” he chirps before kissing you passionately.
