Together Forever

She remembered that day like it was yesterday, when she was proposed to by the love of her life. They were flying over the Hawaiian Islands when Colton called her name. Elke fixed my gaze from the helicopter window to the small box that was resting in Liam’s hand. She squeaked in excitement and threw her arms around Colton. Elke didn’t even care that Colton hadn’t even popped the question before she said yes over and over again until the flashy engagement ring was on her finger glistening when the sun hit it.

When they landed in Hawaii the first person she called was her best friend Ashley. She was already moving in with her boyfriend after graduation. She didn’t know it yet but her boyfriend was planning in popping the question to her sometime soon. She screamed on the other end of the line and congratulated Elke and wished her luck. She knew what Colton was in store for by marrying Elke and so did Colton. He didn’t care as long as one day Elke was willing to give him a family. She told him that was happening regardless because with their good looks they needed to bring children into the world.

She couldn’t believe where she was now. Shaking in circles her heart was beating through her chest uncontrollably. Her palms were sweaty as she tried to calm herself down by breathing slowly. When she looked in the mirror she was startled by her reflection causing her to gasp. She looked absolutely stunning. Her face was flawless with her rosy flushed cheeks. Her bright, bold sapphire eyes were wide with excitement.

Her lashes were thick and covered with black mascara bringing the attention to her eyes. Her lips curved up into a smile revealing her pearly white teeth. Her blonde hair was done into elegant curls framing her face. The reflection of the girl looked so delicate like an angel that was fragile, almost like a porcelain doll.

There was a knock on the door that made the girl’s heart skip a beat. Her mother entered with a huge smile on her face and ruined make-up from crying already. She pulled her daughter into a warm embrace. It was time and she was ready. Elke’s father smiled at her and embraced her as his daughter was about to be married.

His arm was intertwined with hers to keep her walking with the tempo of the music. The aisle was decorated with scattered red and pink rose petals. The entire church was decked out in luxurious bouquets of sweet smelling roses. Behind Elke, her sister held the long train. She wanted to glance back at her but her eyes were focused on him. His endearing smile had the butterflies in the pit of her stomach fluttering while Elke’s heart was beating uncontrollably. Colton’s enticing chocolate brown eyes were boring into hers as if he was searching into her soul. She wanted to run to him and wrap her arms around him and tell him to never let her go.

Finally, she reached him and he took her hand. They were about to embark on our journey as forever united.

***************

He laid her on the bed as Colton went outside to retrieve the luggage from the hotel hallway. She closed her eyes taking in the magical event that she was now married to the love of her life. Elke was now Mrs.Rudloff. Who would have thought that this day would come? She had no clue until the romantic night that Colton proposed to her while we were flying over Hawaii during their sweet escape vacation after graduation. He had surprised her with the tickets shortly after the Tartan class of two-thousand and twelve tossed their caps in the year as they were finally done with high school, and Elke was glad.

The bed moved and she opened her eyes to find her husband leaning over her smirking. He brushed a piece of her hair and swept it behind her ear before he gently brushed his lips against hers, teasing her. He knew she hated when he did that which was why he did it in the first place. He always enjoyed teasing her. She threw her arms around his next pulling him closer to her. His breath tickled her neck causing Elke to giggle with excitement. Colton’s lips crashed against hers and she found herself dazed in all his glory. A small moan escaped her lips.

Her hands went under his shirt caressing and tracing the lines of his sculpted torso that made her knees weak every time he removed his shirt, or every time she took it off for him, that is. There was nowhere else Elke wanted to be in the world. She had everything and more that she needed to last her forever. Colton was what Elke always wanted, and he was hers forever.

The hem of the dress she was wearing was slowly making its way up her thigh as his hands went up her waist pulling her closer to him. She gasped when Colton shifted their bodies so she was comfortably resting on the bed. Before Elke knew what was happening Colton’s shirt and pants were lying somewhere on the hotel floor as was her dress. She wasn’t paying attention where the clothes were thrown and it wasn’t her main concern.

Several years passed and Elke and Colton’s family had grown. A little girl and boy had joined them. Kirsten, the girl, had light brown hair like her father and blue eyes from her mother while the boy, Brandon had blonde hair and brown eyes. The family gathered around a table enjoying the warm summer day eating outside for lunch. Colton  brought out his guitar and sang a special song he wrote for Elke after their first date, bringing her memories of how she fell in love with Colton Rudloff.
