"It's my mom, she's coming upstate tonight." You say, pulling at your lip with your teeth.

"That's a good thing, isn't it?" Hank asks as he grabs your hand.

"It would be a good thing. However, I haven't told her about Intelligence yet." You say.

Hank lets out a light sign and looks at you.

"You'll have to tell her at some point." He finally says.

"I know. She didn't even like the idea of me joining the academy and I doubt she'll like the idea of me being in–" You say before Hank cuts you off.

"You don't have to tell her." He says with a sigh.

"She's going to ask though." You say, standing up and subtly freaking out.

"What's she going to do when she finds out?" Hank says, sitting back on the couch.

You sit down next to him again and Hank wraps his arms around you.

"You are a grown adult, who can make decisions for herself." His voice trails off for a second. "What time is she stopping by?" Hank asks.

"She's going to meet at my place at 8pm." You say.

"Alright. That's in an hour, so why don't you head home and get ready for her?" Hank says, tracing the top of your hand with his fingertips.

"You're going to be there?" You ask.

"If you want." Hank says.

Hank slides his hand down your body and rests it on your thigh. You grab his hand and you both intertwine fingers.

"Come on, honey. Your Mom might not like you dressed like that. Especially this close to Christmas." Hank says, trying not to laugh. You let out an airy laugh.

You both stand up and get ready to leave. Hank grabs your coat off the hook and helps you put it on. Both of you step onto the front porch and he locks the door behind him.

He walks you down the driveway to your car and you get in. He walks to his car and starts the ignition. You pull down the street and drive to your apartment building.

Hank is following behind you until you look up in your rearview mirror and he's gone. You shrug it off and pull into your apartment building parking lot.

Voight pulls in the parking lot and parks a few spaces down from you. You both get out, he is holding a small bouquet of cut flowers.

Hank walks over to you as you walk into the lobby.

"For you." He says, handing you the flowers.

You blush and a smile grows across your face.
