y/n just graduated the police academy and applied to become an officer for the Chicago Police Department. After landing the job at the 21st precinct, you catch a glimpse of the sergeant of the Intelligence Unit.

You let out a short laugh and lay back into the bed. Dr.Halstead walks into the room and checks your charts.
"You're pretty lucky with where that bullet hit you. I'm surprised the bullet didn't hit your bulletproof vest." Dr.Halstead voice trails off as he slides your chart back into the folder.
"Someone's watching out for me." You say.
"That's for sure." He says, walking over to you. "Listen, In my opinion you're ready to go back to work by next week, but I know that your sergeant isn't going to like that." Will says.
"I know. He probably wants me back by the end of shift today." You say, laughing.
"He talked to me on his way out and asked me to keep you overnight. I will do that for him but I think you should talk to Dr.Charles." Will says, letting out a sigh.
"Will, I'm not crazy." You say, grabbing his hand.
"You're not. However, I just want you to debrief what went down with someone not in your unit." Will says.
"Fine." You say in an agonizing tone.
"Good. He will be meeting you here at 5:30pm." He says and then walks out of the room.
Your phone rings and you pick it up.
"Hello?" You say.
"Hey y/n. I'm not supposed to be telling you this but Denise escaped from custody on the way to the district." Antonio says.
"Really?" You ask.
"Yeah, so now we're on pursuit to find her." Anotnio says.
"Keep me updated please, I don't care what Voight has to say about it." You say.
"Alright, you get better." Antonio says and then ends the call.
You drop your phone on the table and let out a relinquishing sigh.
A few hours pass and there is a knock at your door.
"y/n, I believe we've met before but my name is Dan, Dan Charles." He says, holding his hand out. You shake his hand and he sits down next to the bed.
"I was summoned by Dr.Halstead and Sergeant Voight. I looked over your files and you seem pretty alright to me." Dan says, letting out a slight laugh.
"I guess you get shot once and everyone thinks it's the end of the world." You say with a grin.
"It was a pretty close hit though." Dan says, looking at your shoulder and arm in a sling.
"Could have been worse." You say.
"Can you tell me about what happened?" Dan asks in a soft tone.
