L ,why so distant?

The Project

(Narrators p.o.v)

Today is the 2nd week of school and the teachers sees all the kids talking to their partner except for L and Light. The teacher is starting to worry because they have a project coming up and needs those 2 to talk to each other more. So the teacher decides for the class to write what they like and dislike about their partner. The catch is they have to spend time together first. The teacher decided to e-mail the parent to see if this was OK. He got all "okays" so he put his plan into action.

(Lights p.o.v)

"OK class I have a beginning project for you guys to kick off the year." The Teacher said. "You and your partner are to spend time together and find what you like and dislike about your partner."

I looked over at L and saw him tense up when i looked at him. 'I wonder whats wrong? He doesn't seem to like me very much. But hey who said he had to? The Teacher of course. I thought to myself.

" So umm, I-I guess we uh have to umm hang out. When do you um want to uh start?" L said.

"We can today were do you want to hang out my house or yours?" I asked him.

"Probably your house if that's OK with you Light" He said in almost a whisper.

"OK!!" I said a little to cheery causing him to look at me with a shocked expression.

So the day wore on and soon they both were in art ( they had to sit by each other in this class to). Light seemed to be in a day dream because he was staring at L and smiling.

(L's p.o.v)

Light has been staring at me and smiling for the last 5 minutes and its creeping me out. And that's saying something coming from me. I thought to myself.

"Light ...... Light........... LIGHT!!!" L said a little loudly getting a few glares from the other side of the room.

"Yes L?" He said lightly.

"Your were staring at me and smiling. It was kind of creepy. But then again you were looking at my lips. Are you OK?" I said to him.

"Yes I'm quit fine L" Light said.

Bring bring bring. The bell rang and they took off to get their younger siblings.

"L you are quit quiet. Are you OK? I'm worried I know you barely know me but still." He said to me.

"Umm I'm OK yes but thanks Light." I said.

"Light ,Light ,over here Light!" A voice said.

"Um-mm L I'm over here" a familiar voice said.

I looked over to see my brother standing by some blonde chic. It worried me.

"Near , who is this?" I asked him.

(L's p.o.v)

"Misa who is this?" Light asked my younger sister. But i heard L ask the same question to the white haired boy by my sister.

"This is Near ,Light we have to do a project together." Misa said then asked "Who is that? He looks emo."

"Funny coincident we have to work on a project together to. And Misa you have no right to say that to someone you just met." Light said.

"Actually Light it's OK I'm used to it." I said to him looking into his beautiful amber eyes. Wait what?? I'm not gay, am I? NO i can't i like girls. Well its been a long time since i've actually liked one BUT STILL!

"You OK L? You've been looking at me oddly." Light said breaking me from my thoughts.

"Is he OK? " Misa said. " I'm sure he's fine Misa mind out." Light said then turned to Near " Hey I'm Light and you're Near right?"

"Um-mm Ya"Near said in a small whisper.

"Near it's ok he won't be mean to you ,you can trust him for now." I said.

" OK well we have to get to work who's house are we going to? Near said a little louder.

"We'll go to mine and Misas' house. Do you need to call you parents?" Light said. When he said that I saw Near start to tear up. And I know I went pale ,because Light and Visa looked shocked.

" Near it's OK they don't know" I said while embracing my younger sibling. We started walking to their house. When we got there we split me and Light , Misa and Near.

"Hey um-mm L did I say something wrong back there at the school? Light asked me.

" Um-mm Light it's not of your worries . Im not trying to be rude ,but I just don't think it's important." I replied to his nosey question.

" Will you please tell me?!" Light said.

"No"

"Please"

We started to get closer and closer till there was only an Inch or 2 between us.

(Light's p.o.v)

We started to get closer and closer till there was only an inch or 2 between us. I couldn't hold myself back. I leaned in and kissed him. After a second he kissed back. Then we broke apart.

"OMG L I'm so so so SORRY! Please forgive me it was an accident!" I said.

" Um-mm Light can we just work on this I would like to get this done so we can stay at the top of the class." L said. He is just going to do that! Pretend he didn't kiss back. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? WHAT AM I DOING iF HE DOEN'T GIVE A DAMN I WON'T EITHER. I thought.

After about an hour or 2 we decided to call it a night.

"Um-mm Light thank you for having me over to work on the project and a little more." L said.

I felt the heat rise to my cheeks. He giggled ,and pecked my lips.

"Bye Light-kun!!" He said then left with Near following him.
