I can't wait for the sleepover at Fidelity's. I know for a fact, that everybody says that her sleepovers are phenomenal and you'd have to be really close to her, or be really lucky to actually attend it, and those rumors are surprisingly true. I've been to her house only about, like, maybe six times. Mostly because she's one of the newest in our group. I've known Jesse the longest: for about roughly, ten years. I've known Styphvie for six years. And then Fidelity, we've only known her since two years ago. And I know what your thinking, 'but Ari, you said that you had a lot more friends than Mason!!! You only have three friends!' ,Yes I know. But let's just say, that Jesse, Styphvie, Fidelity, and me are actually popular. I'm not bragging, but I do notice how people look when they see us around the halls. I'm not stupid. I get looks of jealousy, the 'oh my god she's beautiful' look, and the ' OMG, Becky, look at her purse!', all the time, every single day. So I know I'm a big deal at school. It's actually kind of funny when I hear a girl in class saying that she went to Fidelity's house and then I ask Fidelity herself and she says that she didn't even know her. What limits people will go to to get attention. Anyways, I still haven't told my mom if I could go, but I know she'll say yes. Even though I am popular, I still really don't go out much on a daily basis, unlike my other friends. What I do on weekends mostly is read, watch T.V, and play video games, and my mom is always telling me how I need to get out of the house more often and, you know, be normal. Right now I'm in the back of school, waiting for my mom to pick me up. She always takes forever. Oh I think that's her car I see. Yup, definitely her. You know when your parents come to pick you up with your name attached to a piece of paper in the front of the car? Well you can tell it's my mom because she doesn't just have a name, she also waves her arms frantically, looking like a crazy woman and calling my name at the same time. My friends say that they feel bad for me, having my ego so bruised and all, but I honestly don't care. I don't mind.
" Hey mom. Howr you?" I said like I was talking to an old time friend.
"I'm good. I got an invitation to a baby shower today." ,she says matter of factly. "How was school today? Did you get loads of homework?"
"Actually, no I didn't. Just a math worksheet."
"Good!" ,She said happily.
"Uh, mom?", I say warily.
"Yes, sweetie?", She says in her motherish ways.
"Well, you see, Fidelity was just wondering if Jesse, Styphvie, and I could have a sleepover at her house. Would you be okay with that?"
"Of coarse, sweetie. Who's going to pick you up in the morning? Would Marisol be up for it? How about Stacie?", Oh, mothers and their concerns.
"Ummm, no I don't think Marisol would be a good alternative. She always leaves for work at about four A.M. But Stacie would be a good carpooler. She starts work really late in the morning, so she could always drive us. Yes, definitely Stacie." ,I said confirming my statement.
"Okay, it's settled then. Will you do your homework at her house?", She says with worriedness.
"Oh, you know Briguelle. We all know that's the first thing she'll want us to do. Its all covered.", I said reassuring her.
"Ok. Do you have everything? Like clothes, pajamas, toiletries?", She says checking everything.
"Yes, mother. It's fine. You trust me don't you?"
"You know I always do.", she said. "When should I take you?"
"About 5 o clock. That should be a reasonable time.", I said.
"Well we better get home now, knowing how long you take to get ready.", she said.
I lightly shoved her shoulder. "Hey! That's mean! Your the one who takes the longest!", I exclaimed.
