Lily's POV:
When we finally arrive at Hogwarts, we had to take boats to get across the lake.
"I hear there's mer-people in this lake" a girl said a few boats away.
I'm in a boat with two boys I've never met before and the boy I ran into on the train his name is Neville Longbottom, and when Neville hears that, his eyes grow big.
"Mer-people?!!" he says with a look of fear on his face.
"Don't worry Neville. She's only joking," i say and shoot a look at the girl.
"What!??" she mouths and shrugs her shoulders. "It's true" she whispers, "i read about it in-"
Just then, the boats get to the docks.
"Alright, first years, follow me" a man named Hagrid says.
The castle is ginormous. We look like ants compared to it. We walk along a sidewalk for what feels like forever until we finally reach two big doors. Waiting for us is an older lady, with a tall pointy black hat. She looks funny.
"Hello first years. I am professor Mcgonagall" she smiles, "follow me please"
when she opened the door the inside was ginormous, the stairs were moving and the paintings were talking!!
Neville looks quite overwhelmed with it all.
"Here Neville," I say and grab his hand, "you can walk with me", A smile of relief floods his face.
"Thank you Lily." he blushes
*i smiled*
"Man, my legs hurt from all these stairs." i say to Neville
"And to think ," he starts "we're gonna have to use them all year!"
'Ughh, don't remind me," i say as Neville and I laugh.
We're walking up the stairs, when professor Mcgonagall stops at these tall brown doors, and turns around to face us.
"Welcome to hogwarts!" she starts, "now in a few moments you will pass through these doors, and join your classmates. But before you can take your seats you must be sorted into your houses... There are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Now while you're here, your house will be like your family. Your triumphs will earn you points, any rule breaking and you will lose points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points will win the house cup... the sorting will begin momentarily."
"Isn't this exciting?!!" i say to Neville.
'Y-yeah, I guess so." he trembles, '' I'm just nervous for the house I'm gonna get. I think Hufflepuff is real neat, but my parents were in Gryffindor. It runs in the family. I don't reckon I'm brave enough for that" he says looking at the ground. "Of course you are Neville", I say putting my hand on his shoulder. "You just need a chance to prove yourself, that's all" I say with a reassuring smile.
"Are you sure?" he says, underestimating himself.
"Positive" i reply
"What house are you hoping for?" Neville askes me.
"Well i'm hoping for-"
"you must be a weasley"
"did you hear that?" I said.
"hear what?" Neville askes.
"Hold on," i pause, "i'll be right back"
It sounds as though it's coming from the front of the line, (Nevllie and I were towards the back). I squeeze my way to the front of the line, and my forehead starts to burn right then i spot Harry, the same red head boy I saw on the train, and a boy across from us an average of height boy, with fair skin, and probably the blondest hair I've ever seen. It's slicked back with jel, but somehow still looks soft. as I start to walk away from them, the blonde boy insults my brother and his friend I had to do something he's family
"who do you think you are" I say to the boy, he looks shocked well so did everyone else
"And who might you be?"
"more important who are you?" i reply
"Draco Malfoy" he laughs I know him, my fathers had told me a lot about this boy
" I'm Lily, Lily black"
"My father has told me all about you I expected more" he scoffs.
"As has mine, now don't talk to Harry and his friends like that, just because your a pureblood doesn't mean you are on top, the Weasley are pureblood's and they don't act like you, so kindly shut up" I say trying not to show I was scared, what if he knows I'm Harrys sister I just have to play it cool.
"don't talk to me like that" he says and glances at his friend, He opens up his mouth, ready to say something else when professor Mcgonagall comes up behind him and taps him on the shoulder with a rolled up piece of paper, which makes him stop.
"We're ready for you now," she says "Follow me."
