Lily's POV:

When Professor McGonagall opens the doors to the great hall my jaw drops in awe,

"Lily look the candles, they're floating," Neville says as he points at the ceiling that looks as though it's the night sky,

"It's not real, the ceiling," The same girl that we saw on the boat explains. "It's just bewitched to look like the night sky. I read it in Hogwarts: A History," right then I feel a tap on my shoulder and I look back "I'm Ron Weasley by the way thanks for doing that back there" 

"no problem Ron! I'm Lily Black!" I say shacking his hand 

"yes I saw you at the train station my mum, Molly talk to you and your..."

"dads!" I laugh. 

"All right, will you wait along here, please?" as Professor McGonagall says that my stomach fills with butterflies

"When I call your name, you will come forth. I shall place the Sorting Hat on your head and you will be sorted into your houses...Hermione Granger" when Hermione sits down the hat is quite for a minute then yells "Gryffindor", everyone at the Gryffindor table clapes,

"Draco Malfoy" he sits on the chair and the hat barely touches the boy's head and it yells "Slytherin" that's can't be a good sign, 

"Harry Potter" as Harry goes to sit down I see a man with jet black hair looking at me like he's seen a ghost, "Gryffindor" the hat yells and everyone goes crazy, especially the Weasley twins they kept yelling "we've got potter we've got potter" it was quite funny but as soon as you know it, its my turn "Lily Black" I walk up to the chair and I felt so sick, "hmm you are a difficult one, lets go with Gryffindor" I go to sit down at the table and the man with the jet black hair kept looking at me so I turned to the girl beside me and asked "who's that teacher with the black hair" 

"oh him, thats professor Snape head of Slytherin house" she replies. 

My dads have always told me stories about that man but why is he looking at me like that, do I really look that much like Harrys Mom? 

"what dose he teach" I ask 

"potions" she replies

after everyone had been sorted we all sat before the teachers. 

"Let the feast begin" dumbledore announces and food appears in front of us

"Wow" Neville whispers under his breath

Heapings of mashed potatoes, a full chicken almost bigger than me, loads of gravy and all kinds of vegetables are laid in front of us

Me and Neville just dug in like no one was watching,

the flavour is unreal, i look over at ron who has two chicken legs one in each hand eating away

I don't blame him i have never seen this much food in my life

"Have you tried the chicken yet" Neville says with his mouth full

"Ya i have, did you try the rolls" i replied also with my mouth full

"No i havent can you past me one"

"Yes i can" i say and past Neville the basket of warm buttery rolls

"Wow this is amazing" 

"I know right i've had 3 already"

"3??" he laughs 

We both start to laugh 

...

When we finished eating, Percy Weasley the Gryffindor prefect lead us to the Common room,

When we got to a painting of a women  i hear the prefect say "Caput Draconis" which makes the door swing open

"wait w-what did he say" Neville mutters

"Caput Draconis" i laugh.  

"oh no, I don't think I will remember that" he gulps 

"its okay Neville, ill help you" I reassure him.

Percy the head boy had told us all to go and unpack our things

"this is so exciting" one girl said "I've been waiting for this day for what feels like ages" another one said, but me on the other hand i kept reading the letter my dads had sent me, but something was off. I would look at the girls and hear things they weren't even saying, "what if they don't like me" one voice said, "what if they think I'm annoying" another one said, but where was it coming from?
