"Are you sure this is okay with you?" Robin asked Marian, whilst tying a bow around the back of her light pink dress. While there was no doubt his ex-wife was beautiful, she had nothing on Regina. He couldn't wait to see her later on. "Robin, I told you. I want you to be happy. Now that Cora's safely locked up with her other daughter, we can finally enjoy some time to ourselves without evil mothers and wicked witches. The person I was back then is not the person I am now."
"I know." He sighed, "And I'm sorry I didn't notice it earlier. I should've known my wife wasn't herself. Though, Cora certainly knew a lot about you." The pair laughed, and for a moment, things felt like old times. Only, now he was in love with someone else: Regina. He longed to see her, it was torture being apart for this length of time, but he knew it'd be worth it in the end.
"It's fine. No one else got the memo either. Anyways, thank you for helping me with this wretched bow, I'm clearly not used to such luxuries."
"Well, luckily for you, there aren't that many balls in Storybrooke. Not that I've heard of." He added, checking his appearance in the mirror. Robin was wearing a dark green doublet and hose with a regal cape draped over his right shoulder.
"You look great." Marian smiled, "And so do our children." The thief decided not to say anything, as they'd come to the agreement that children could be shared. But she was right, their children did look perfect. Nila was dressed, head to toe, in a beautiful blue ball gown, with expensive jewels and diamonds littered all over her. There were gold bracelets and diamond earrings and all sorts of beautiful things, but none as eye catching as the glass pendant she wore around her neck.
Roland was dressed in a shirt and breeches, both consisting of his current favourite colour: green. He really was the spitting image of his father, just as Nila was her mother. Robin picked up his son and whirled him around in the air. "You look so smart, Roland! Just like a real prince." He turned to his daughter, "And you look just like your mother: stunning." Nila tried to stifle her smile but it seemed her father was just too charming. She almost blushed.
This was the most important day of her life, and she wanted to make the most of every second.
The outlaw suddenly turned to Roland's mother, "I think it's time to get going, don't you?" Marian nodded, and pushed her son towards the door, "Yes, I suggest we leave now if we want to get there on time. Let's go, Roland. Nila, your mother is in her chambers, I suspect."
Nila smiled and headed down towards the Queen's room. She had been there many times before, but for some reason, today felt different. Maybe it was the fact that she may not ever be there again, or maybe it was the fact that today was about beginning a new life. Whatever it was didn't matter. It wasn't her day.
The girl knocked on the door quietly, not wanting to shock anyone inside. It was opened by Snow. "Hiya," Nila whispered, "Can I come in?"
"Actually, Regina's just on her way out now. She'll be here any minute." The princess was indeed correct. Within a minute or so, Regina stepped through the doorframe in the most gorgeous dress she'd ever seen. It wasn't as complex as her own, but it was almost a thousand times more beautiful. It was long and trailed way past the marbled floors, with embroidery all down its back. In all the time she'd actually been Queen, Nila thought her mother had never looked so regal.
"Woah." The girl was truly taken back, overwhelmed by Regina's beauty. "I can only hope that, one day, I will be as fair as you, mother. You look..." Although she didn't seem to have the words to profess how she really felt, the Queen seemed to understand.
