The Sun shone in through my blinds casting a soft glow into my room, the iridescent crystal shards in my window spilling out rainbows.
I opened my eyes slowly as I ran my thumb gently over the soft white blanket that covered my small frame, my eyes drifted towards the window as I sat up. Stretching my arms above my head letting out a small yawn, black strands of hair falling out of place.
Getting up my body got a slight cold chill as the floor had gotten cold from the fan being on all night.
Walking out of my room and into the kitchen it was lit up with the soft morning sun, everything was quiet and the haze of being up early before even the birds gave that nice fuzzy feeling inside my head.
The smell of freshly brewed coffee filled my nose as I moved towards the coffee pot, reaching up to grab a white mug before pouring in the hot black liquid. Opening the fridge I grabbed some creamer pouring it into the drink, shutting the fridge with a small kick and walking out onto the balcony.
Taking a seat I stared up at the bright pinks and oranges in the morning sky, birds had finally started to rise into the sky singing their own songs. Taking a sip from my mug I noticed a red feather drop onto the small table in front of me, it was larger than a normal bird's. A little confused I reached out to grab it, picking it up amazed at the size. It flew out of my hand and traced itself down my arm before resting on my lap.
"Well hello there" a voice rang out from in front of me, quickly raising my head up I met a man's golden gaze. It took me a moment to process that I was looking at pro hero Hawks, stunned and my mouth dropped slightly open. "A little star struck aren't you?" He chuckled as he sat on the railing "I saw you out here alone and thought you'd like some company."
"O-oh, I'm sorry just seeing you face to face is so much different then what I thought it'd be" I laughed a little before meeting his gaze again.
"It's alright, I've heard about you miss Cryo. Your progress at UA impressed a lot of us." He leaned on the railing still maintaining eye contact with me, a soft smile spread across his face.
"I'm glad my UA reputation has made it it's way to the Hero's Association, I had to work hard to make it that far." I adjusted my position to sit up straight. "If I didn't get to apprentice under Midnight I probably would've given up."
"Hey now kid you made it through it because of your determination, your talented with an amazing quirk" Hawks turned his attention up to the sky watching an airplane fly over head as he stretched his wings before reaching into his pocket "I came here to give you this" he said as he turned and handed me an envelope. I got up to grab it, examining it as Hawks frame towered over me.
"What's this for?" I asked looking up to him with a confused expression.
"I want you to be my apprentice, working alone has gotten tiring especially with my latest mission. Your quirk could really help me out if anything goes wrong too." He said it so calmly as if it was just an ordinary thing, although for him it could be. For me on the other hand my heart was going a mile a minute while my head was in chaos at how happy I was at the thought. Being a pro heroes apprentice could change my life and I had looked up to Hawks since I became a student at UA.
"Yes I'd love to!" I blurted out excitedly beaming up at him with the biggest smile. A faint blush appeared on his cheeks as he glanced to the side. He cleared his throat before speaking again.
"Perfect, I look forward to working with you, Miss Cordell. Inside the envelope are ways to contact me along with the description of our mission." He smiled at me once more before taking to the sky and disappearing behind a building before I could say another word.
