Taking Flight(Hawks x character insert)

Early Morning

I'd been sitting outside on the balcony for a couple hours now watching the sunrise, the previous night I'd woken up in a cold sweat unable to remember the dream that startled me so much. The sky shifted between hues of pinks and blues as I wrapped my white housecoat tighter against myself, birds finally began taking to the sky their chirps mixing in with the chaos of the morning rush below. Carefully I stood back up and walked back inside leaving the door open as I tiredly fell onto the couch looking up to the ceiling. Today would've been better with a proper night's sleep but my subconscious clearly thought otherwise.

I let out a yawn as a ball of grey fur jumped up onto my chest, my eyes connected with her soft yellow orbs, a small smile formed on my face when she laid down.

"Good morning Mitski" I said as I placed a hand onto her head gently petting her, her purrs filled my ears. My eyes grew heavy and the last thing I saw before drifting back to sleep was Mitski curling up against me.

"Hey kid wake up" a familiar voice echoed throughout my head, feeling someone shake my shoulder. I opened my eyes to be met with Hawks. It took a moment to realize what was happening, I shot upright almost butting heads with the winged man above me. "Woah woah calm down songbird" he said as he backed up a little still kneeling beside the couch "you weren't answering your phone so I got concerned, your door was opened so I just let myself in"

"Sorry I fell asleep, I didn't sleep well last night and left my phone to charge in the kitchen" I yawned through my sentence stretching my arms a little before turning to glance at Hawks. He was wearing a plain black shirt, tan cargo pants, and his signature glasses.

"No need to apologize, I hope you're feeling better now." he smiled as he took a seat beside me "if you'd like we can go get lunch and discuss our partnership once you're properly dressed and ready." he said gesturing to my robe and pajamas.

"Oh yeah of course I'll go get ready" I felt embarrassed as I hurried off to my room shutting the door behind me quickly making my way to the closet. I had changed into a yellow striped dress with a white turtleneck layered underneath, my hair was brushed and left in a half ponytail as I left my bedroom to see Hawks sitting on the floor petting Mitski who laid curled on his lap. I smiled to myself walking into the kitchen and grabbing my phone. Looking at the notifications I noticed four missed calls over the span of the morning and early afternoon.
