After watching Hawks fly away I turned on my heels and walked back inside, opening the envelope trying not to rip the contents inside. 'Why would he give me this before asking me? That would have jeopardized his mission..' I thought to myself as I took out a case file.

UNDERCOVER

Thalia, I've asked you to aid me in my assignment to go undercover with the League Of Villains.

This is highly dangerous and I urge you not to tell anyone about this. I've already made it in and have connections to get you in with minimal questions. Our job is to find out more about the experiments they are carrying out and to prevent any further attacks.

Your files from your time at UA had your skill sets and the Hero's Association agreed that you'd be best suited for aiding me. Below is my contact details, let me know when you've finished thinking this through.'

-Hawks

At the bottom of the page sat a scribbled out number, I pulled out my phone and proceeded to copy the digits into the keypad hesitating to text him. "What should I even say? He has that much trust in a person he doesn't even know, what if I was working with the League of Villains?" I muttered to myself before accidentally pressing the call button.

Hearing the ringing I looked down confused before my eyes widened from shock 'shit shit shit is it too late to hang u-'

"Hello?" my thoughts were interrupted by a soothing voice "can you hear me?"

"Ah hey Hawks, it's uh Thalia" I placed my hand over my chest feeling my heartbeat quickening from the small adrenaline rush.

"Oh hey kid" he let out a small chuckle, I could hear the wind gush through the receiver "I'm glad you decided to call me, since you were able to. I'm assuming you've read the case file. If you want we can meet up tomorrow to discuss it more."

"Yes that would be great, however you could've put yourself in danger trusting a stranger with such valuable information what if I didn't agree or was working with them?" I spoke a little quicker out of habit and also not wanting to take up too much of the hero's time.

"Have to build up trust somehow now don't we songbird?" I could practically see the smirk on his face as he added that last part "I'll come get you tomorrow around noon, take care kid".

After we had said our goodbyes I made sure to hide the files inside a desk drawer underneath my old school papers. As I walked back into my kitchen I caught sight of the red feather from this morning sitting on top of my counter, with a puzzled expression I grabbed it holding it up to the light watching it gently shine. 'I don't remember bringing this inside..' as if the feather could hear my thoughts it floated out of my grasp and spiraled around my head before tucking itself into my hair. I let out a small laugh before grabbing it again, an idea popping into my head. I began rummaging through drawers and cabinets until I found a brown string, I carefully wrapped it around the quill and tied the ends together turning it into a necklace. In my head I thought the feather would contrast perfectly with my black hair, I put it on as the feather stopped moving.

Besides the events of this morning my day was uneventful, I took care of my plants and took the chance to relax, before I knew it was 10pm. Glancing at the clock I turned off the living room TV before heading into my room, a grey fluffy blob sprawled out on my bed it's chest rising slightly with each breath. I smiled to myself before sinking into my soft bedding, I had left my fan on and my window was slightly open letting in the cool night air. Pulling the blanket over my frame careful not to disturb my sleeping cat I then rolled onto my side gazing out the window watching the stars in the night sky as my eyes grew heavy before shutting the sound of a melodic whistling lulling me into a deep sleep.
