CHAPTER 8

"Boom?" Gulf spoke slowly. Worried that his voice would startle Mew who was asleep. Gulf was shocked to see a man was by Mew's side as she stepped into the room.

"Yes. You just got here?" Boom asked. Gulf could read the ripples on Boom's face. He was a little surprised by Gulf’s sudden presence.

"I just arrived. There seems to be someone else faster and earlier than me." Gulf tried to make a joke.

"Gulf. I have something to say to you. I think, we better find another suitable place to talk about it. I'm worried if Mew is disturbed. Shall we?" said Boom.

The fruit that Gulf had brought earlier, he placed it on the side of the table next to Mew. Then, they both left Mew asleep.

"Boom, thank you. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't know the real thing until now." Gulf began to express what he kept in his heart. He regrets! He really regrets that at first he didn't believe in Boom.

"Small matter. You're most welcome, Gulf. You're my friend. Mew is also my friend. So, I think it's my responsibility to tell you about Mew. Actually there's something important that I think you need to know. But before that, I hope you are strong."

Boom’s mouth seemed heavy to tell Gulf the matter. "Can Gulf accept the news when he himself finds it difficult to accept it?" Boom asked in his heart.

"Just say it, Boom. I'm ready to listen." Gulf began to feel uneasy.

"What kind of news is Boom going to tell me? Is it related to Mew?" Gulf asked himself.

"Actually, I just met and talked to Doctor Saint. Doctor Saint is the doctor who treated Mew. He told me that Mew is now in a very critical condition."

"In other words, Mew is just waiting for his time and he asks us to pray a lot and be patient." Said Boom to Gulf. Boom's chest tightened when he heard the words coming out of the specialist doctor.

He will lose a good friend who is very close to him in the real soon. Can he and Gulf accept the reality of a life?

"What?! Boom, don't you dare to play around! I know Mew won't die. He won't leave me. He said won't leave me. He promised me that he wouldn't leave me." Gulf can't accept Boom's words. He seemed to lose his sanity at the time.

"I'm not playing around, Gulf! This is the truth. I need to face it. You need to face it. We both need to face it."

"I myself cannot accept the statement from Doctor Saint but I cannot deny the provisions that have been written." Boom said slowly. Then, Gulf ran to Mew's room. He was asleep at the time. Gulf gripped Mew's hand as tightly as he could.

"Mew! Don't leave me! I beg you, don't leave me! I'm not strong without you!" Gulf cried by his side. He has just reunited with Mew but why must he go from his life again?
