Andrew grant was getting ready for school. It was a quarter of 7:00 am he was going to be late for his first class. 'Advanced psychology' with Dr. Juanita Anthony. Dr. Anthony was one of the most revered and esteemed professor's at UTA. She was strict and took no nonsense but was also the best in her field! It was rumored she had helped the FBI track down over 50 serial killers; Andrew had to just about fight to get put in her class last spring, when he made his schedule for this semester. He was a tall young Blackman of 22, he was chubby. 224 pounds he wore contacts, which were black and he was in his senior year of college. He wanted to be a clinical psychologist once he got his bachelor's degree. He had been at UTA since 2010 right after high school. He was from three towns over. Fort Wayne his family still lived there his mother Helen and his father Martin. He had two sisters one was 34 and the other 28, his father had wished for all boys but he guessed one would do. Or that's what he told his brother Andrew's uncle Tim one time when Andrew was 7 and supposed to be up stairs asleep. He hadn't played sports in high school instead he was active in the marching band! He played the saxophone. He was also in the schools Bible club and the debate team, he was well liked by most of his fellow classmates. And teachers, this morning he dresses himself in a purple t-shirt that had a red x on the front of it and in black blue Jeans. He walked into the kitchen of his small student apartment. And poured himself a cup of coffee, he put two pop tarts into his toaster. As long as I've been in school I always get nervous on the first day he thought to himself" fuck I hate it too, if I can just tell myself this is my last semester of college and next year I'll either be in grad school or working, maybe I'll be fine!. Just then La-Laurie his golden retriever padded into the kitchen and stood beside his leg. Andrew looked down at her smiling" hey girl did you sleep good last night if you hold on a minute daddy will feed you before he has to go . La-Laurie looked up at him and wagged her tail and barked shush girl Andrew said, you don't want them to kick us out do you? East view student apartments were owned by the University of Texas. They allowed pets but as long as the owner kept the pet clean and made sure they didn't run around the complex without a leash and didn't make excessive noise". La-laurie was five years old Andrew had found her when she was a puppy he had gone out with a friend of his from high school. They had gone to. Look for arrow heads near McGraw's bluff but instead found an abandoned puppy. Andrew looked at his phone for the first time that morning he had six missed text messages. One was from his friend Max mills who lived down the hall from him, and one was from his other friend Anita gates. She lived with her boyfriend on the other side of town she was also a psych major, the other was from his ex girlfriend Rachael! This one he read and rolled his eyes" Andrew we need to talk I hate how we left things I'm taking my part of the blame it'd be nice if you could take yours. please text me back when you can! He deleted the message from his phone, we've been broken up three months and she's still trying to talk to me where did her partner go back to his wife? That's why she wants to talk. Rachael and Andrew had been together for three of the four years Andrew had been at UTA, she had been a senior when he was a freshman a criminal justice major who had been lucky enough to get a job with the Cameron county police department homicide unit. Right out of police academy It had also helped that Max's dad was the police Captain! She had cheated on Andrew with her partner, detective Victor Rodriguez he was a good looking guy he was 28 very fit even Andrew had thought about how good he looked. But he hadn't discussed it with Rachael! Andrew was a bisexual he had been with boys and girls before in high school and at college too. He and Rachael had an agreement he was not to sleep with any boys unless he cleared it with her and he used protection! But after he had discovered Rachel had cheated on him with Victor he decided he was going to play his own game. He had slept with Philippe from his political science class. Philippe was an exchange student from Ecuador they had worked on a group assignment together for class. Andrew had been slightly attracted to him because of his accent" and his skin tone he had a well developed body, so after Andrew had discovered Rachel had cheated on him. He invited Philippe over for drinks one night and to study. One thing lead to another and he and Philippe were in his and Rachael's bed, Rachael had walked in and caught them In the act. And that had pretty much been the end of their relationship she had moved in with her friends and Andrew stayed in their apartment!. He ate the pop tart and ran out of the apartment bye La-laurie daddy's gotta go to school and I'll be back around 3:30 then I've gotta work. He closed the door and walked down the hall he saw some of his neighbors going about their morning routine. He walked down the two flight of stairs and out the front door", he walked over to his SUV a silver ford escape. Just as he was about to get in someone grabbed his arm! Andrew let out a startled yelp and turned around it was Max. Andrew rolled his eyes and growled ugh" Max what the hell bro you trying to give me a heart attack"? Max grinned chill dude you stay so Tense it's like you got the stick or should I say Phillipe's stick...... Andrew laughed and punched max jokingly in the arm. Shut up man ok, ok Max said i was just trying to lighten your mood I know we didn't get to hang out much this summer! You went on vacation with your parents and that stuff with you and Rachael. Andrew shook his head" it's all good I was trying to figure out somethings myself so I wasn't, good company for anyone! Max nodded and said well anyway can I get a ride to campus? Andrew said sure hop in. They backed out of the parking lot" and turned down Whitman Avenue. Max cut the radio on. Some new "Lady Gaga" song was just going off and Max was singing the last cords of it Andrew rolled his eyes and laughed at him."  please don't quit your day job! Max laughed ah hater, just then the radio news came on" this is rowdy randy bringing you the latest news for the Cameron county area. Police are still investigating the murder of 20 year old Deanna foster, ms foster was discovered by her roommates on the morning of august 2nd on the downstairs couch of the apartment she shared with three other UTA students. The police are not saying If this is the work of the same individual who killed four other people just last year! And three more disappearances in January. But they are urging everyone to practice caution when approached by someone who they aren't familiar with and make sure your doors are locked at all times in other news.... Andrew frowned and turned the radio off! Max looked at him man I had biology with Deanna she was in one of my labs last year!. Who would kill her? Andrew shrugged I don't know probably some sick freak, who's sexually frustrated. They both laughed Andrew slowed the car and turned into the parking lot of UTA, it was crowded as usual for the first day of school. Freshman were scrambling looking for their classes, parents Were letting their kids go for the first time. Andrew usually liked the first day of school.... Other than being nervous. But today it was different he felt like something was coming for him. Something he wasn't ready for, he parked near the civics building and he and Max got out. Max turned and looked at him Nita, Lacey, Nick and Casey want to meet up for lunch after we get done with class are you down? Andrew nodded sure I get out around 12:45 so I'll meet you guys at the Quad! Max waved. "OK see ya then!"and ran off. Andrew made his was to Brigham hall where his class with Dr. Anthony was about to start in six minutes. He got in the auditorium and scanned for a seat. He heard someone call his name it was coming from towards the front, he saw who the voice belonged to it was Rebecca Watson. She was a mutual friend of his and Rachael's she motioned for him to sit next to her! Apprehensively he made his way down to where she was and sat down." She hugged him Andy how are you? I'm so sorry I didn't get to talk to you after the break up". He smiled at her it's ok I kinda just dealt with it on my own! Rebecca nodded I talked to Rachel the other day she seems ok. Just then Dr. Anthony walked onto the stage" ladies and gentlemen if I may have your attention please my name is Dr. Juanita Anthony and some of you will come to call Me Juanita others will call me Dr. Anthony and for some of you who will probably drop this course by October. I'll be referred to as the evil bitch monster of psych 101: people laughed. Andrew and Rebecca exchanged glances and giggled, Dr. Anthony turned around to the projector screen and said alright class I want all of you to take out a sheet of paper and a pen and write what I'm about to show you down. Just then the doors at the back of the auditorium opened" and a young man stepped in. He was white about 6ft2 and very muscular he wore his hair close around his ears and two chestnut bangs in front of his eyes. Dr. Anthony turned around and said young man do you have an excuse for interrupting my lecture? The boy stood in place I'm sorry I was looking for advanced psychology with Dr. Anthony. Dr. Anthony nodded this is advanced psychology I am Dr. Anthony and who are you? The boy smiled my name is Aidan, Aidan pierce.
