Faulk Arkansas: October 23rd 2006. Charles Grady reported his step father missing just a week and a half after killing him. Since Earl Rodmoore was the town drunk no one was suspicious and when Lester sturgis parents reported him missing no one cared. They assumed he had run off with some older man from the Internet. People in town began to talk," Ole Earl must've took up with some woman in Jonesboro or Texarkana! It's a shame though he left his step boy by himself. Others would whisper things about Lester as well" that old no good faggot finally got tired of getting his ass kicked so he skipped town with one of those perverts on the Internet. Some people even speculated that maybe Lester and Earl had run off together, they had been lovers and had kept it hidden from the entire town. If anyone had really taken the time to investigate properly, and had cared enough they would've gone to the Rodmoore house and went to the edge of Earl's garden and dug seven feet deep. They would've saw what had finally become of Earl and Lester they had not run off they hadn't exactly been lovers. Earl had forced himself on Lester and now they were both dead! But no one cared for Earl Rodmoore who it was rumored to be a satanist. Yes there were rumors in town that Earl would kidnap animals in the dead of night and sacrifice them to his dark master. Farmer's would  come up missing chickens and goats and pigs. People would just assume Earl was responsible but no one would accuse him to his face Earl stood 6ft5 and weighed a good 345lbs he wore a lot of leather and blue jeans and black boots. His hair was always kept flowing and loose down his back! Cashier girls at the local stores said his stare was enough to make your blood go cold. One cashier named Samantha Becket told one of her friends Charlene Rodgers about Earl coming into the store for a phone card," char I was just standing there reading a magazine and I heard the door clink open I assumed it was just one of the regulars coming in for smokes or coffee so I didn't look up. All of a sudden I felt eyes on me and I put the magazine down and Earl Rodmoore is starring at me I thought I was gonna die, his eyes! Oh my god those eyes, char they were silver and he looked insane. As for Earl's stepson Charles who's mother he had married when Charles was seven after they had moved to town. He was sent to live with his aunt in Manatachie falls Arkansas. 25 miles away from Faulk. He wasn't sure about starting at a new school in the 11th grade. He would have to make friends all over he really didn't want to try and play sports even though his aunt Martha had told him it'd be a great idea if he at least tried out for some sports. But Charles refused he just wanted to blend in with the rest of the crowd! He wanted to try and forget about his violent past with Earl and all the things, he had seen him do and what he had been a part of. But he knew eventually the violence in himself would resurface, he sometimes called it his "Beast". He resolved to not become romantically involved with anyone because he knew it would not only be dangerous for him but for the person he ended up with. But that changed once he met Matthew Sarger.  They were in several classes together! English 3 and home economics. Charles was very attracted to Matthew how beautiful his skin looked! How charismatic he was he could light up an entire classroom just by his personality alone. He had never felt this way about a boy, not ever. No not Lester or anyone else! he didn't know how to approach Matthew he kept thinking of ways to approach him. Matthew was always around his friends especially one girl named Delia. Charles had left several notes In Matthews locker. He wouldn't sign them of course he had to remain anonymous, almost secretive, about his attraction. He had gotten to the point he was peeping in Matthews windows at night he would watch him undress and text people or even touch himself sometimes. Charles would touch himself too. Those times! Imagining he and Matthew having sex with each other. The desire in him to talk to Matthew grew and grew day by day until once,  charles thought he would go insane. He finally told himself he was going to have Matthew Sarger and he wouldn't stop until he was his boyfriend, Charles willed himself to go and talk to him it was a Friday April 20th 2007 they were in study hall. Matthew Sarger was sitting at a table by himself reading a book and Matthew pretended to be looking at books on the shelf. The librarian a woman named Lillian Kirks was sitting at her desk typing something out. when Charles made his first move on Matthew. He walked over calmly Matthew looked up at him smiling," hi!  Charles smiled hey he replied. I kinda wanted to talk to you! Matthew smiled I could tell, have a seat then!. Mrs Kirks looked up from her computer and told them to be quite! Charles blushed he told Matthew his name and Matthew told him his they talked for  awhile and exchanged numbers. They would've continued to talk until Mrs Kirks came over and told Charles he was to report to the principals office for excessive talking. Charles didn't care about that he had gotten what he wanted and that was Matthew he would deal with Mrs Kirks later and ironically she was the first victim of the manatachie slayer almost a year later.
