best day ever?

Y/N POV: 

Date: Monday, September 20, 2004 

We have no school today. Thank god. So I just plan to listen to the radio and draw. All of a sudden I heard the radio host.

“ Good morning, and here we go with music news. Green day just released a new album today entitled American Idiot. So we’re going to play one of the hits called “ Wake me up when September ends”.” 

When I heard Green Day I grabbed my phone and texted Gerard. 

Y/N: Gerard! 

Gerard (my helper): what. Did I do something wrong?

Y/N: no green day just released a new album

Gerard (my helper): your joking 

Y/N: no I’m not they just said it on the radio

Gerard (my helper): oh my god

Y/N: yeah I’m downloading the songs right now. Want to meet up when it's ready? 

Gerard (my helper): of course! How much longer 

Y/N: About an hour I’ll text you when it's done 

Gerard (my helper): ok 

I put my phone down and got dressed. It was cold but also warm so I put on my dookie sweatshirt and my chem shirt. I go to the bathroom and put on light makeup. I went back to my room and got some jewelry on. I checked my phone and it was 98% done so I text Gerard. 

Y/N: hey it's almost done 

Gerard (my helper): ok. Want to meet up at the park?

Y/N: sure 

I grab a bag and put my things in there. 

“ Mom I’m going to the park.”

“ ok just be back by 6. We’re having my parents over to meet you.”

I nod and head out the door. I listen to my playlist while walking to the park. I sit down on a bench and text Gerard. I got a text back from him saying he was here and he sees me. I see him and walk up to him. 

We got close to each other and hugged

“ hey.”

“Hey.” 

“ So do you want to walk over to the bench you were sitting at?”

“Sure”

“I missed hanging out with you. Just the two of us.” 

“ Yeah. It’s been weird and awkward with Ray in family game night. We barely speak to each other.”

“ don't worry he’ll warm up to you.” 

We sit down on the bench and I pull out my phone and earbuds. We put the earbuds in our ears and play the first song. The first song was really upbeat and I really liked it. I could see Gerard was making little head bobs and I giggled. He looked at me and smiled.

“ what.”

“ Nothing. It was just a little cute.” 

I looked down at the grass while the next song started. I felt something touch my shoulder and it was Gerard. Looked at him and smiled a little. 

~ time skip~ 

It was close to 3 and Gerard and I was walking to a coffee shop. I get my normal coffee and Gerard gets iced. We then walked around the city and talked. Around 5:30 we headed back to my house. We got to my street and Gerard walked in front of me and turned to face me.
