Falling In Love With Charlie Lenehan ~ Bars and Melody

Chapter 3

*Brietta's P.O.V*

When Charlie and i got too our street we did rock paper scissors on whose house we were gonna go to, we ended up going to mine.

When we got there we went in and sat on the couch. And found a note on the coffee table. It read:

Dear Brietta,

Me and your dad went to Morocco for about a month and your staying with the new neighbors, no exceptions!

Love Mom and Dad

"MOROCCO! What the frek! Why did your parents go to Morocco? And for a month?" Charlie yelped.

"I'm used too it, but normally they just let me stay home by myself. Looks like our parents have been talking."

"What?" Charlie said. He looked like a lost, confused little puppy. It was adorable.

"First your mom this morning with the Baby Charlie Cross Dresser picture, and now all of a sudden i have to stay at someone's house while my parents are gone."

"Oh, all well i guess, at least we get along. And i have something planned for today that'll get your mind off of this."

"Seriously? What? Tell me, tell me, tell me!" I said excitedly.

Charlie then stood up and slowly started backing away. "You'll have too catch me and see." Said Charlie. He then whipped around and bolted the other way. I jumped off the couch and started running after him. He ran right out the front door and down the street. He quickly turned the corner and that's when i lost him. But there was a massive arrow pointing to the right that said 'He Went That Way!' I quickly ran down that way only to find a poster that said 'Clue one' and it had a bunch of flowers on it. I immediately thought of the flower shop. I sprinted to the flower shop only to find yet another poster with a clue on it. This clue was a picture of kids and a riddle:

'I'm where kids like to play and try to touch the sky.'

Swings at the park! I ran the two blocks too the nearest park. When i got to the swings there was a little girl that handed me a sticky note. The sticky note said:

Meet me at the top of the tallest hill.

I ran over to the tallest hill where i finally found Charlie.

"Child i promise you, if you ever make me do that again i might just have too kill you." I said playfully.

"Well let's just hold off on that for a bit. Follow me."

"Charlie if you make me run one more time, i swear."

"Calm down Bri you just have to walk a bit."

"Ok, then lead the way."

We walked about ten feet and came too a picnic basket with a picnic blanket under it.

"Surprise Bri. Do you like it?"

"Yeahs its great. So what did you make for us to eat?" I plopped down on the blanket and reached for the basket, but Charlie grabbed it.

"Nope, there's something in here for you and i don't want you to see it yet."

"Oh ok, well I'm starved so let's eat."

"Ok, what would you like, a cucumber sandwich or a ham and cheese?"

"Ham and Cheese please." Me and Charlie talked and ate for a while. Then one of those fairy tale moments happened. The one where me and Charlie looked at each other and something just clicked. He started leaning towards me and i layed down and he layed over me and our lips met. I couldnt think straight. I layed there kissing Charlie, trying to think this through but i couldnt. All i could think about was how soft and perfect his lips were. We finally pulled away when we both needed to breath, but it ended all to soon for me. He put his forehead on mine and kissed my nose making me blush. I went to turn and hide my face because it was so red but he caught my chin and kissed me again. It was just a peck on the lips but it was sweet and perfect.

"Well it looks like my mom was right about showing you that picture."

"What, but you said that was only for your girlfriend's eyes. So what im asking is, is this you asking me out?"

"Yeah i guess so. Why else would i have kissed you?"

"I dont know." I said smirking.

"Hmm, then let me kiss you again and we'll see if you can figure it out." He started to lean down again but i pushed him off and jumped up.

"If you wanna kiss me again you'll have to catch me."

Charlie turned over on his elbows. "Aww, babe what happened to not running anymore?"

"I've temporarily gotten over it." I said then bolted. I turned around to see if Charlie was following me and saw he was right on my tail. I ran even faster.

"Really Brietta, your gonna make me full on run. Trust me you don't want me to do that." He yelled.

"Oh really and why is that slow poke?" I yelled over my shoulder. Then about two seconds later Charlie was tackling me to the ground.

"Charlie!" I yelped.

"Oh my gosh are you hurt?"Charlie asking worryingly.

"No, no, no you just surprised me."

"Oh, well you know i did catch you." Charlie said raising his eye brows.

I decided to play stupid and said, "yeah and?"

"Now i get to kiss you again."

"Oh yeah." I wrapped my arms around Charlie's neck and smashed my lips into his. Our lips were moving in perfect sync when suddenly Charlie pulled away. "Hey. Get back here, I wasn't done kissing you."

"How 'bout this. I give you your surprise then I'll get back to kissing you alright?"

"Alright, so what is it anyway?"

"You'll have too wait and see." Charlie then stood up and held his hand out to help me up. I grabbed his hand and he pulled a little to hard and i went falling the other way. Thankfully he caught me. We linked hands and started walking back too our picnic spot.

When we got there Charlie grabbed the picnic basket and took an envelope out and handed it to me. I immediately opened it and retrieved a ticket. It said:

I looked at Charlie with sheer excitement. I'd never been out of the states. This was going to be great. And the best part was it was going too be in four weeks. Ahh, i was screaming on the inside.

"Do you like it?" Charlie asked. Instead of answering verbally i just jumped into his arms, wrapped my legs around him, and hugged him as tight as i could, while squealing like a maniac.

"I'll take that as a yes." Charlie said hugging me back. I buried my face into the crook of his neck and just stayed there for a bit before letting go.

THEY FINALLY KISSED!!!
