It was Saturday afternoon and I was currently walking between blocks of apartments with my phone in my hand looking for Aizawa's home. I stopped in front of a building looking at the number plate that was on the wall of the building. I looked at my phone again reading the address Aizawa has sent me. "This must be it."
I took the elevator to the 12th floor where his flat was located. I knocked and put on a friendly smile. The door opened revealing Aizawa in his casual clothes, shirt and pair of sweats, and hair in a bun with few loose strands. Again, I had the same feeling in my stomach.
"Hi, it took me a while but I found it." I waved at him. He stepped to the side inviting me in. After he closed the door behind me, he went to the kitchen and I followed him, observing his flat. It was simple. Not much decoration but the interesting sleek design of the furniture made it look good.
I was interrupted by something rubbing against my leg. I looked down and saw a cute little grey kitten nudging its head on my jeans.
"Hi, who are you?" I leaned and picked it up. It softly meowed and nestled in my arms. I met Aizawa in the kitchen making coffee and saw two cups on the counter with teaspoons in them.
"Are you making me a coffee?" I asked while announcing my presence.
"I'm making US a coffee." He poured the boiling water into the cups. While holding the cups to go back to the living room, Aizawa looked at the cat which was purring in my arms.
"Where did you find Sparkle?" Sparkle? Really? How can someone so grumpy have a cat named Sparkle. It just doesn't add up. I looked down at my arms and caressed the furry friend. "It just started rubbing on my leg."
We sat on the couch in the living room, Sparkle leaving my arms to find a better sleeping spot. We sat in silence while enjoying our coffee.
"Where's the other one? You said you had two cats." Aizawa put his cup down and straightened up on the couch looking around.
"She was here somewhere, I just saw her." Not seeing his cat, he relaxed back into the couch. "She will come out eventually." I nodded.
"Look F/N- oh sorry Ms. L/N."
"You can call me F/N, I don't mind. I'm younger anyway so hearing people calling me Ms. L/N makes me feel old." I chuckled.
"Oh, I guess then you can drop the Mr. too. Yamada always bugs me about that I still demand calling me Mr. from you anyway." He said taking another sip of his coffee replaying the many times Yamada bothered him about me using honorifics with him.
"Okay, Aizawa." I gave him a thumbs up. He chuckled hearing his name being said by me.
"F/N, I talked to one of the students who has a psychic quirk like you and he said what helped him control his quirk was having his thoughts together." I knew what he meant by that. He wanted me to tell him the story that I refused to tell him many times. I sighed and started tapping my fingers on the ceramic cup.
"I know it's hard for you to talk about but if it bothers you, you can't let it sit in you." His voice was soft and calming.
"I guess you're right." I slowly started retelling the story of how I accidentally killed my bully and how people treated me in school. The whole time he attentively listened.
"...and I still have nightmares from it. Do you understand why I don't want to use my quirk so badly? I could kill someone Aizawa." I looked desperately into his eyes. I could tell that he felt sorry.
I looked back at my feet. "That's also why I couldn't do the whole 30 seconds of my illusion with Aoyama. His fear was being made fun of because of his quirk. The same thing happened to me in real life and I couldn't make Aoyama go through that."
"I'm sorry to hear that. You did good but we still have to train. You can't run away from your quirk. You can't live without fear." I sighed. He was right. Running away wasn't a good choice. My dad always told me 'Stand proud and don't run away even when death comes to take your hand.'
"I know. I will try my best to get my illusions under control." I straightened up and put my hands on my hips.
"I'm glad to hear that." Aizawa looked at his phone then back at me. "Yamada won't be here for another hour so what do you want to do."
"I don't know, what do you suggest?"
"Oh, I have something in mind." Aizawa adjusted the band on his sweats. My eyes widened.
