It was 7 AM on Wednesday morning and I was sitting on my suitcase half asleep. The school bus stood behind me and Aizawa was in the school getting the essential documents. The students should be getting here any minute.
The leaving time was 7:15 and the students were supposed to be here right about now. However, I was here since 6:30 because as a teacher I needed to be here earlier to check if everything was okay.
"Ms.L/N! Good morning!" I heard Momo shout from the distance. With great effort, I opened my eyes and gave a weak smile.
"Hi, Momo, hi guys." Other students appeared from the school gates.
"Did you take the bikini I made you?" Momo stationed her suitcase and sat on it.
"You bet. And again thank you for it." Momo gave me thumbs up. The other students gathered around us.
"You don't have to wait here. Get your things in the storage space and go sit inside the bus." I said rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.
They nodded and went to settle themselves inside the vehicle. The rest of the students came and Aizawa appeared as well. A couple of teachers were coming with us too but they used a car and were already at the hotel since yesterday to make sure everything was prepared.
When everyone was on the bus, Aizawa told the driver to close the door and seated himself beside me in the front seat. There wasn't any other seat so it wasn't like he could sit anywhere else.
I hoped there would be at least one more free seat. I wanted to sit by myself because I planned on sleeping through the way there to catch up on the lack of sleep I had today. At least I had the window seat. I propped my head against the glass, put my headphones in and closed my eyes. The low vibrations of the moving bus made me sleep like a baby.
I was glad that I didn't have nightmares this time because they usually made me scream from sleep and I didn't want to scare the kids.
I woke up because of the loud chatting of the students. I wanted to sleep more so I got comfortable on the soft pillow and shut my eyes stronger. Wait. Soft pillow? I felt around the material with my hands. It was soft and pillow-like but... I don't remember taking my pillow with me. I opened my eyes. That's not my pillow! I moved away a bit. That isn't a pillow at all! Oh. God.
I was met with Aizawa's tired look. I couldn't tell if he was angry at me. It didn't look like it, but he didn't look pleased either. I wanted to apologize but Aizawa was quicker.
"You woke up just in time." Huh? I looked out the window. We were on the side of the road and on the other side was a large forest.
"What, why did we stop?" I was confused.
"The bus broke down!" Kaminari whined.
"Really?" I looked at Aizawa and he nodded.
"Students, great news. We aren't far from the springs hotel so you'll take the route through the forest and meanwhile we'll call someone to repair the bus." The homeroom teacher announced.
The students whined and started getting off the bus. I sat back in the seat and closed my eyes. It wasn't great hearing this news but at least I had more time to sleep.
Someone pulled out my earphones making me open my eyes. I looked confused at Aizawa who was holding my earphones.
"You're going with them. They can't be on their own."
"Ugh, really?" I groaned and put my phone into his hands.
"Take care of this for me then. You said it wasn't far?" I said at the bus door.
"Yeah, just be careful." I waved at him and went to join the kids. Why should I be careful. It's just a forest walk.
We were few minutes into the forest when we heard something move between the trees.
Suddenly a big creature appeared out of the shadows. What the hell is that?!
"Guys, do you see what I see?" Kirishima anxiously asked.
"Yes." Everyone said in unison.
"I think we have to fight it otherwise we won't get to the hotel." Midoriya said. Is this what Aizawa meant by being careful. Did he know about this?
The students started talking to each other trying to figure out a plan to beat this thing. I reached in my pocket for my phone to call Aizawa...Fuck. You gave him your phone! You, dumbass.
The students finally figured something out and I moved to the sidelines to not be in their way. Occasionally checking on some of them when the creature threw them away.
While we moved through the forest more creatures appeared but the kids were good at taking them down so we moved fairly quickly. But I was still scared for my life. If I was here alone, I wouldn't survive a second.
We finally got to the small opening where the trees were cut down and the small hotel stood. It looks like it's just us staying here. The lights could be seen in the windows and a pleasant smell of food was lingering around the area.
From the hotel I saw Aizawa happily coming towards us.
