EIGHTEEN YEARS AGO
It was Amelia's first day of grade primary. She didn't know anybody in her class so she just spent most of the day by herself. She noticed there was another kid by himself but she was too scared to go over and talk to him. Amelia was an only child and didn't have much experience with other children. The second day, during story circle he came over, sat by Amelia and introduced himself. "My name is Ryan. Want to be friends?". After that day they were practically inseparable. Until...
THREE AND A HALF YEARS LATER
Ameila and her dad were on their way back from dropping her mom off at work, she worked backshift and they would go to pick her up in the morning before dropping Amelia off at school. It was December, there was snow falling heavily from the sky and the roads were extremely icy. Amelia's dad was driving very cautiously so as not to get in an accident, when he was blinded by headlights coming towards him on the wrong side of the road. He tried swerving to avoid the car but his car just ended up slipping on the ice. The other car t-boned right into the drivers side door. He was pronounced DOA by the paramedics. Her mom couldn't stand staying in the small town where everybody knew her past so she decided they were going to move. Move to a big city where they didnt know anybody, and nobody knew them. Amelia didn't completely understand everything that was going on, all she knew was she was going to have to say goodbye to everyone she knew. Which included Ryan. Her only friend since she was five years old. She eventually moved on and forgot about everyone else from the school, but she never forgot the quaint little town... or her best friend.
