PRESENT DAY
Amelia didn't think Riley would keep their promise, but they did. They messaged Amelia when they were on their break to see if she actually gave them a real number. Over the next two months they spent quite a bit of time together. With all the time they were spending together, it was surprising that neither of them realized that they already knew each other. It was now July. They made plans that the next weekend they would go into the neighbouring city, about an hour and a half away, for a few days and do a bunch of city things. Yeah their town wasn't as rural as Amelia remembered but there also wasn't much to do. With only one little department store it's not a very wide selection of stuff. Riley picked her up after their shift and at 8:45pm they arrived at the hotel. After checking in the two of them decided to try and find a restaurant to eat at. They found a cute little establishment owned by a wonderful old couple who came over to chat. After dinner they went back to the hotel to rest for their upcoming day. Once they woke up and had breakfast, they got on with their day. First stop was the mall. Most of the day was spent there, stopping in stores. Neither of them had very much extra money to spend so it was mostly window shopping, but they both found something they really liked. Riley got a shirt that Amelia said compliments their skin tone(not that they have any idea, they just wear whatever hoodie they find in their closet) and while in a jewelry store Amelia got a charm to put on her cute little charm bracelet that she never takes off. She got it from her dad and every time she sees a charm that reminds her of him she buys it and puts it on. It makes her feel connected to him. After the mall they went and had dinner at the same restaurant as the previous night, said goodbye to the owners, then went to the movies. They hadn't decided what genre they wanted to see so they told the attendant to surprise them, he, probably assuming they were a couple which most people they had met probably thought, gave them tickets to see a rom-com. The entire time all they did was make fun of it. It was such a terrible storyline and the movie itself was just corny. They were exhausted from their busy day and all the walking they did, and fell asleep the second their heads hit the pillow. In the morning they packed up their stuff and headed home in Riley's car. After they dropped Amelia off they went back home. On the door of their house was a piece of bright yellow paper. Before they even got to the door they knew what it was but once they got to the door and read it it confirmed their suspicions
