Hello, Lovelies! Here's the Omake I had promised you in chapter one!

I know Omakes are supposed to be shorter than normal chapters, but I don't really care. I was too focused on Itachi's and Naruto's relationship and how it came to be.

Now that I think about it, if Naruto never ended up with Orochimaru, Itachi would've been his lover (especially now in the rewrite, now that I'm able to explore Naruto's relationships with everybody and his new personality).

I wanted to explain a few things in this "chapter:"

1) Naruto doesn't usually smile. Like AT ALL. He isn't like his canon counterpart. In the original, I made it seem like his pessimistic nature was due to the war and everything that happened in it, but that's not quite right.

Naruto was pessimistic from at the latest six years old.

He was already used to being abused and hurt by that time so he was more mature than his counterparts, which explains why he's in the Academy so damn early.

2) It was super duper hard keeping this from purely Itachi's point of view. I tried to make him as close to canon as possible, though I probably failed T^T.

I tried recapturing Itachi's wise thinking while still making him a child with antics and the naivety of a child so he might be a little bit OOC, but not too much.

3) I got rid of Chapter One of Second Chances as well as that story altogether, so don't be surprised if you can't find it.

I hope you enjoy Itachi's point of view of Chapter One! If you do, please comment and leave a vote!

Omake: Itachi Meets Naruto

Warning: Implied Abuse, Implied Homicide (I think that's what it is), Implied Neglect, Shisui's suicide is referenced briefly at the end (as well as the whole giving-Itachi-his-eye bullshit)

Itachi Uchiha met Naruto Uzumaki for the first time not long after the blond had been born.

"Will we be taking care of him since my parents were friends with his parents?" Itachi found himself asking Hiruzen as he gently held the fragile blond in his arms.

Hiruzen shook his head, "No. He's going into the orphanage with the other orphans."

Despite being a prodigy (well on his way to becoming a genin), he was unable to understand why.

"But why?"

Hiruzen just sighed and rested a heavy head on the inquisitive raven's head.

(He would later ask his cousin his thoughts but Shisui would never tell him anything, refusing to say anything.)

----

The second time Itachi met Naruto, the blond was four years old. Itachi was nine and was grieving the loss of his Genin Sensei.

Though that did not stop the raven-haired Uchiha from assessing the young boy.

The boy was banged up and crying, yet he was watching Itachi with open trust that didn't fit the situation. It was like the blond knew him despite not seeing him before that day.

Itachi frowned and took him home, where his mother bandaged him up and his father growled at the boy's lack of education -manners-wise.

Two months after that, Itachi started seeing Naruto and the Akimichi heir around their home at least once every week during the school year.
