It's been a few days since that conversation with Suna, and since then you could really tell he was trying his hardest. You may have given him a chance to see how he changed but that didn't mean you still didn't have some walls up protecting you. There were times when you'd give him short replies. This made him a bit frustrated because of how hard it would be to talk to you, but he knew he deserved it.
With the constant reassurance and advice from Kita you broke down some walls. You and Suna got a bit closer, time to time you would allow him to hold your hand. Sometimes he'd come over to your hotel room to watch movies and you would even cuddle with him. You felt warm again, you saw the sun peeking from behind the clouds again. It felt as if your dark days were finally about to see light again. You were starting to realize that maybe he did change and that it's okay to love him again, but you still had your guard up in case he ever screwed up again.
Whenever he had games he would invite you to watch, and man did you miss watching his games. He may have looked like he had no interest in playing, but you knew deep down he wasn't playing in division 1 for no reason. Every time you saw him block a spike you couldn't help but smile a little. He had finished a game and you agreed to hang out in his hotel room that night. You both walked over the couch and talked for a bit, mainly just you scolding him for his posture on court.
He left to go take a shower and while waiting you heard his phone go off. You knew it was wrong and an invasion of privacy but you couldn't help but want to check. You flipped the phone over revealing a notification that popped up. 'I miss you, come over tonight' looking at the name 'Akiko.' You could recognize that name anywhere. She was from his middle school and just so happened to be the girl that was kissing Suna at the Halloween party. Also Suna and her dated for three months and then she broke up with him, so seeing her name pop up on his phone with that kind of text didn't make you feel good. Your heart grew heavy, you were in shock. The last time you felt that was when you saw the image of him and her kissing.
You put the phone down and left without saying goodbye. It was a rainy night and you ran out of the hotel, you didn't know where or what you were going to do but you just wanted to run. You ran until your legs gave up, you fell onto the ground of a park. You picked up your cell phone dialing a number that you used to call a lot back in high school.
"Hello?" They answered, you took a deep breath, "Please come get me."
Minutes later a grey haired male came running into the park, he dropped next to you. "y/n what's wrong? Why're you just sitting here?" no response. You looked up at Osamu with tired eyes, "Come on, you're going to get sick," he helped you get up and covered you with his umbrella.
