2:00 P.M.

'DIIIIIING', sounded the end of
the day bell.

the young teacher smiled at her
students, as they packed their
belongings inside their backpacks.

ms. l/n
"bye bye everyone! make
sure to get that syllabus
signed by wednesday, please!"

the small children waved goodbye,
some of them even came up and
gave her hugs.

the pickup spot was outside in the
front of the building, so of course, the teachers
would go outside with their class, and make
sure their guardian would pick them up. kids
were being picked up by their parents,
siblings, babysitters, etc.

the [color] woman scanned the area,
trying to make sure no students got
lost, or missed their ride. she thought
everything was clear, until she spotted
two kids sitting on the sidewalk.

she walked up to them, a smile smile
danced on her lips.

ms. l/n
"kana? kenji? has your
parent not come to pick
you up yet?"

kana shook her head, her pigtails
swaying side to side.

kana kageyma
"no, but daddy said he would
be here to pick us up!"

kenji kageyma
"so, we are waiting here!"

ms. l/n
"do you know what
time he'll be here?"

both kids went quiet for a moment,
until kenji spoke up.

kenji kageyma
"mm... i think he said his
practice would be done at 1:50!"

"so he should be here soon!"

their teacher took a seat next to
her students.

ms. l/n
"i see, guess i'll be waiting
for your dad here with you guys."

kana kageyma
"why're you waiting with us, ms.l/n?"

"shouldn't you be heading home?"

her teacher chuckled at her question,
finding it rather silly.

ms. l/n
"normally i would, but i
can't leave two of my students
outside here by themselves!"

"that would be irresponsible."

utter confusion was displayed on both
kana and kenji's face, causing the teacher
to be slightly flustered in confusion, as well.

ms. l/n
"why are you both
looking at me like that?"

kenji kageyma
"ms. l/n, what does irr-irreponsli–"

kana kageyma
"irr—irresponsi–ble? mean?!"

holding back her laugh, the woman
explained them the meaning of the word,
irresponsible.

ms. l/n
"well, irresponsible means
that you don't do what you're
assigned to do! like i'm assigned
to teach you guys life lessons, and
it's also my job to keep you guys
safe, since i'm your teacher."

"if i don't do that, it makes me
irresponsible."

kenji kageyma
"so, does that mean daddy is
irre–irresponsi-ble when he picks
us up late from school?"

ms. l/n
"not that much, i'm sure he
has a good reason to be."

both kids awed at their elder,
kana stood in front of her and place
her small hands on her teachers knees,
which were tucked in.

kana kageyma
"you're so smart, ms. l/n!"

"i wanna be smart like you!"

as the woman was going to respond,
she was interrupted by a deep voice.

tobio kageyma
"kenji! kana! sorry i'm
late!"

the twins sprinted to their dad, who was
already crouched down. he was attacked
in a big hug from both his kids.

the teacher's heart melted at the sight.

kana kageyma
"what took ya so long, daddy?!"

kana pulled at his hair, earning an
'ouch!' from kageyma.

tobio kageyma
"sorry, uncle hoshi forced
me to do some extra sets
after practice..."

kenji kageyma
"we missed you!"

tobio ruffled his carbon copies dark
hair, standing up straight and looking
at the woman who was making her way
towards the family.

his words got caught in his throat for a
moment when he saw the sweet smile that
was displayed on her lips. she looked so
welcoming, it caught him off guard.

tobio kageyama
"oh—sorry for–uhm–
being late..."

"sorry if they cause you
any trouble..."

a giggle left her lips, igniting a light pink
blush on the ravenette's skin.

ms. l/n
"don't worry about it! they
were well behaved!"

a pout was soon formed on kana's lips.

kana kageyma
"i really missed you today..."

tobio kageyma
"i missed y—."

kana kageyma
"but! ms. l/n is the best teacher
ever! she's so pretty and nice!"

"right, daddy?!"

kageyma sent a quick glare towards
kana, but ultimately agreed.

tobio kageyma
"yes, she is, now both of you
say thank you to her, uncle sho
is comin' over for dinner."

kenji and kana waved both hands
at their teacher, while there dad buckled them
into their booster seats.

kenji kageyma
"bye, ms. l/n! see you tomorrow!
thank you!"

kana kageyma
"see ya tomorrow, pretty teacher!"

ms. l/n
"i'll see you both tomorrow!
take care!"

kageyma gave the lady a curt nod
and a 'thank you, before hoping in
his car and home.

y/n watched the car drove off and
soon let out a breath she didn't know
she was even holding.
