The first thing I see is light. Such a bright freaking light.

"Ugh!" I trained and rolled over. I pulled the blanket over me and shut my eyes tight.
...

Great! Now I can hear the dang birds shipping. After tossing and turning I realize sleeps is hone forever, or at least until tonight but that's still soo looonnggg! With that dream crushed here, I am just laying here. Enjoying the feeling of the bed before I have to do stuff. Lazily I grabbed my phone from the nightstand.

10:37 A.M.

I forced my body into a sitting position and stretched and let out a roar of a yawn. I scratched my head and looked around. No wonder the light is so bright, the dang curtains must have been open last night. I dragged myself out of bed and to the bathroom. Did my business, brushed the best I call hair, then proceeded to get clothes from my bags. I grabbed a pair of plain ol' boot cut jeans, a very light pink button-up short (Like a flannel bit different patterned and its short sleeve) with little cacti patterns, and pastel pink Converse. I grab two baby blue berets and light bran crunchy in case I need to pull back my hair. Lastly, I tied a grey hoodie around my waist. I get way too cold way too easy to not be prepared about it. Remembering the directions downstairs I walked to the right of the front door to look for a kitchen.

Woah, the kitchen is huge. Oh, I am going to bake so much in here! In the middle, there was a brown granite island, and laying on top was a note and envelope.

'In the envelope, there is $60, head to Zoe's first and grab breakfast. Then you can shop. Let me know when you leave, I don't mind you exploring but be careful and back before sundown. Had to leave early, see you this evening.' read the note. How am I supposed to get around town? Maybe bike? But that'd take a while. Hmmm. I ran back upstairs brushed my teeth, grabbed my phone, wallet, headphones, charger, and purse. I text grandpa Holt letting him know I was leaving soon but asking how to get around. He said in the garage there was an old beat-up truck he fixed up to help me get around. Standing in my room I was going over a mental list to make sure I had everything. Ok, I just need to grab the money and the keys. The keys are apparently in the envelope too. I got to the kitchen and grabbed the envelope. $60? How expensive does he think I am? Well ok, don't answer that. But who trusts a 16-year-old with that much that they didn't earn or something? Oh well, I shrugged it off opening the envelope and taking out the butterfly keychain that had the keys dangling from the ring.

I walked through the garage door that was connected to the kitchen and looked for the truck. Dang grandpa Holt had a LOT of cars. I finally found it at the end. I got my license two weeks after my birthday so I'm good and I'm a safe driver. The truck looked in worse shape than grandpa Holts that we'd taken yesterday. It was a muddy longhorn orange but the paint was peeling off showing rusting metal that held more dents than me walking/ falling down the stairs on a day-to-day basis. I'm just happy I don't have to walk the whole way through town.

I made my way through town listening to the country station. I parked out front of Zoe's and grabbed the money, my phone, and my purse. I walked up to the door when an older gentleman was walking out. He held the door for me even while I was walking slow.

"Thank you, " I said with a smile once I reached him. He smiled big and nodded saying "your welcome" back. I walked up to the bar and took a seat to the right of the cash register but it was to where a little boy sat between me and the register. He was playing with two action figures, Spiderman and Goblin. I watched him with a smile as he made explosion noises and everything. Then out of nowhere, he pulls out captain America and iron, just kidding, they came from a hulk backpack he was holding. I giggled at how to cure the little brown-haired boy was. He was no older than 4 or five and was just sitting here without a care playing superheroes. He lulled out more figures as I was looking away to check out the menu.
