he looked at you intensely, inspecting your features in hopes of finding any reaction at all. you just sighed at his wack attempt of uncovering you and spoke up.
"i dont have a vision." you retorted sternly while still looking in front of you. it was the better choice to make, its easier this way to stay undercover.
diluc seemed to buy your excuse and left the topic alone, you were glad he did. that was untill paimon suddenly spoke up as well, "thats a shame, paimon cant believe the gods didnt recognize you yet." she said while pouting.
acting as if you really didnt have a vision, you reassured her, "thats fine, im still a good fighter with just a polearm." you spoke up while flashing her a small smile.
paimon cheered up immediately from your reply and wanted to speak up, "thats a good minds-" only for her to get interrupted by her own stomach rumbling.
everyone shifted their attention to paimon, aether in front of you three spoke up, "already, paimon?" he asked her while sighing slightly.
paimon sheepishly runned the back of her neck and let out a, "hehehe..." as aether guessed right.
diluc perked up, he had no idea what aether and paimon were talking about so he opened his mouth, "what is the matter?" he asked politely while slightly slowing his pace.
paimon came to halt and so did aether, the latter spoke up, "i think its better if we eat something first." he concluded and you nodded at his statement.
"we will go into dragonspine soon, its better if we have much food in preparation." you said and looked at aether as you stopped walking.
the red haired man besides you spoke up, looking at aether and then to you as everyone stopped walking, "well what do we have now?" he asked.
aether spoke up first, answering diluc, "i got chicken mushroom skewers, some sweet madames." he said as he thought to himself.
the boy continued, "and a bunch of hash browns." he finished and diverted his gaze to diluc and you. you got your backpack off and placed it on the ground below you.
rummaging through it, you spoke up, "i have tons of grilled fish and jade parcels." you said as you closed your bag again.
you got your backpack from the ground and placed it on your back again, speaking up more, "besides that i have cabbages and flour." you retorted to the group.
paimon started drooling after hearing all those delicious meals, diluc snapped her out of her trance, "i have cheese with me, if we find mushrooms we could make mushroom pizzas with the cabbages and flour." he said calmly in his usual voice.
"please do." paimon continued drooling, you turned your gaze to at her and it looked like she was in heaven or such, her mind was definitely somewhere else, fantasizing about all the meals she was going to have.
the corners of your mouth curled upwards as you saw her state, she really was something else. you let her come back to reality as you spoke up, "alright lets get going." you told everyone.
right as the words left your mouth, you turned around to find some mushrooms. but you were immediately stopped by a hand grasping on your shoulder, you looked back over your shoulder to see who it was.
the first thing you saw was a hand in a red glove on your shoulder, even if his hand was gloved, you could still feel the warmth radiating off it onto your shoulder.
your eyes shifted from the glove upwards to the person, you looked confused at diluc and he spoke up, "im not going to let you just wander off." he said while still holding your shoulder tightly.
furrowing your brows, you wanted to speak up, but he beat you to it. "youre still under my supervision here." he explained and retracted his arm from you to let it fall to his side.
you looked at him and spoke up, "then lets go together." you said and turned around to find mushrooms, you knew exactly the place for them.
when you came to mondstadt four weeks ago, you remember that there was a small place close to the statue of the seven at windrise that had lots of mushrooms, you wanted to go there and get over it.
but diluc didnt follow you, he wanted to go to a different place. you turned back around and saw him simply standing there with his arms folded over his chest.
he motioned to follow him but you spoke up, "come on, aether and paimon are already searching too." you spoke up as you approached him.
the red haired man thought that you listened to him and would finally follow him, that was untill you extended your arm to his and grabbed his wrist, your grip not too tight but not too loose either.
you turned right around and started dragging him behind you towards the place you had in mind, it caught him off guard so he let you take the lead this time.
the two of you got to the statue and you walked to the large tree behind it, still with dilucs wrist in your hand, he was not against it and let you.
when you two came to the back of the tree, you spotted the mushrooms and let go of dilucs arm. he retracted his arm and rubbed his wrist slightly.
you got your backpack off, placing it on the floor besides you. then bending down through your knees, your coat touching the grass beneath your feet. not much later you started picking the mushrooms and placing them neatly in your bag.
diluc was just looking at your crouching figure from behind, he didnt know what to do at first but then started looking for mushrooms in that area as well.
he spotted some and silently walked over there, it wasnt too far away from you and he could still supervise you.
