Chapter Twelve: The Garden of Amahara Part Two

Hello my lovely readers!! Welcome to the next chapter of Armin the Exorcist!! I know it's been a while since I last updated, but here it is! The song is a Blue Exorcist Ost. song called 'Call Me Later.' So I thought it would be good for this chapter.

Armin's P.O.V

"The demon is somewhere in this garden." A certain fear courses through my veins as we look around the seemingly innocent garden; only for us to discover that a demon dwells amongst us in the very ground we are standing upon. Even now, I can feel something lurking underground with my feet and this sends chills down my spine. I turn to Yukio.

"Yeah, there's a demon here alright." Yukio looks at me.

"Are you sure? Can you sense it?"

"Yes....." I bend down and place my hand on the earth. "I can feel something moving down there that doesn't match up with the aura of the garden. And it's a demonic aura that the source is emitting, so you are right. There is a demon living in here."

"So a demon is in this garden." says Yukio, turning back to Shiemi. "Shiemi....... demons usually ensnare their victims through conversation. You must have talked to a demon. Any idea when? You can tell me." Shiemi looks reluctant to tell Yukio what's on her mind.

"I haven't talked to a den-" She is cut off by her worried mother.

"Shiemi!!" yells her mother, taking a step forward. "Get out of this garden right now!!!"

"Mom....?" I can see the look of shock on Shiemi's face, like she didn't expect her mother to say that. Her mother continues on.

"Your grandmother cared for this place...... but there's no use ruining your health......... over this Damned Garden!!"

"Mom, don't say that....." I can see the rage building up in her irises. "This was grandmother's treasure!!! I hate you, mother!!" With her yelling that, my eyes grow huge as I feel the aura around Shiemi dimming slightly. After that, she wobbles and collapses to the ground. We all scream out:

"SHIEMI!!"

Some time later.......

Shiemi is resting in her bed, with her mother and Yukio looking in at her. Yukio sighs.

"If we don't drive the demon off......" Yukio appears reluctant to say the next thing, so I take over.

"Her life is in danger, isn't it......" What I said sounded like a question, but I already know the answer. The demon will continue to feed on her life-energy and eventually, she will die from the constant feeding of this demon. We have to save her! Her mother then speaks.

"Isn't it weird how she sleeps here?" We look questionably at her as she continues. "Her grandmother lived in this storehouse." I look up at the small building adjacent to the main house, nestled in with the vegetation. "After her grandmothers death, Shiemi began spending all her time here." She begins to shut the door. "That's when she lost the use of her legs." Shutting the door, she has a look of regret on her face. "Just like her grandmother did......." Rin and I stare at her with worry melded onto our faces. "Why?.... I try to ask, but we always end up fighting. I'm not a very good mother." Yukio and Shiemi's mother begin to walk away, oblivious that we aren't following them, but I continue to eavesdrop a little. "When she was little, she would get sick at school. I was busy with the shop, so her grandmother would look after her. Perhaps this is my punishment for neglecting her." Even if they are far away, I can tell Yukio stops and turns.
